Sure. I'll preface by saying this was with a cheap multi-meter.
I'll have a good one tonight to look at this again.
Labels are from what it looks like the sticker on the alternator is pointing to... (Why there are two POS arrows, confusing)
NEG->POS: ~25vdc
NEG->POS: I can also get ~50vac...
My 803 is showing discharge when running, and reading ~25 vdc charging.
Read a thread about rebuilding the rectifier, but before I unsolder all that, there a way to tell if that's what's wrong? The AC tap is reading ~50 vac, which seems too related to the 25vdc on the charging circuit to be a...
So, while in the process of getting my new MEP-803a running, I had to disassemble some of the case.
Now that I'm putting it back together, I recall that it had some type of sealant holding the parts together. While I could just grab something black and apply, this stuff was at least something...
Yeah, right up till it over heated. Suspect the T-stat isn't opening from IR gunning the hoses and all. (Radiator is 95, block is 240, hoses are 200 hear the pump, 95 near the radiator) So hopefully a new one will show up before next weekend. I also suspect it's low on coolant from what I could...
Recently picked up a MEP-803a. One reason that I decided to get this was to solve an annoying problem, one of our UPS units refused power from our gas generator. (A Brigs & Stratton unit.)
So part of inspecting the MEP was making sure it looked like it would solve that problem. So out comes the...
And after bleeding a lot more water, removing the entire water-separator housing and visiting a vise and large strap wrench upon it, a bit of cranking got it to fire up.
Happiness.
(And for some reason I can't upload pictures.)
So...
The fuel water separator...
Yeah, I started down that road. What a pain with the painted on screws. Gonna need to replace a bunch.
Any ideas what kind of sealant is used to glue the pieces together? Seems easier to pull apart than just silicon would be, but don't want to not replace it since it's likely part of why the...
Yeah, I grabbed the one that didn't start. Went for about 1/2 what the others did. Figured with 76 hours past a 2012 reset it was a decent bet.
Managed to get ~32 oz of water out of it, though.
How in the world do you get the fuel separator off? it's like it's welded on. So far all I've...
Got a "Cranks but won't run" MEP-803a.
While checking it out, found water in both fuel filters, so I figure that I need to:
Drain the 1/2 tank that's in the unit.
Replace both filters.
Pull fuel lines from the cylinders and drain the water out of all the lines.
New fuel.
Anything else?
If...
Heads up if you've got an ID from Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico and Washington.
May not be able to use it to get on bases for pickups.

The A2's are too new to register as historic in WA, and will be for another 7 years.
So for me there would be a $400/year difference. That buys a decent amount of fuel given the amount I drive it.
Well, in addition to all the testing normally done for development...
The 939's were an existing drivetrain that had a new transmission and cab dropped in. Was the Allison an off the self transmission, or was it a custom design?
Figure out what PA's rules are. They very by state pretty broadly as you've seen so far.
But to round out the extremes...
I'd say get the knowledge, skip the CDL.
BUT in WA state you're going to spend 2 weeks off work for a class B, or a full month for a class A. Because the training is...
Fillibuster's a valid technique.
Take the shot the other guy finally ran out of time, had a commitment, went to a meeting, saw something shiny and lost track, or just gave up on 1 of 2 cause he realized you only want one of them.
But the alternative is there's 60 lots that close at noon.
All are going for 500 at 11:58. At 11:59:50 an automatic bidder swoops in and bids on all of them to 550 and walks away with 57.
It's not worth trying to automate sniping on eBay, but with 60 identical items all ending at the same...
Said **** it and replaced the POS 24V to 12V converter on the camera system with a way too large transformer.
Turns out the system draws 0.45A, new transformer rated for 10A. So shouldn't blow this one out.
I've decided Pyle is the Harbor Freight of cameras.
