Why did you buy your deuce

I bought my first deuce when I was 17, that was 1984. I bought it because I was 17. My buddies and I used to take it to the drive in movies (bring back any memories?) Now in my early middle age, I realize what a great decision it was to buy the deuce. Yeah I guess I still think like a...

    M109A3 General's Field Quarters

Thats pretty cool Opie. I like the panel wainscotting. Some RV dealers show floorplans on their website, you may get some ideas there. Robert, you should be able to do a shower and toilet, I would figure out the waste tank placement and then design up from there. The supply tank location is...

a terrible sight for a man to see

I thought that was the mother in law. Ok not going there. I would love any opportunity to blow-viate my opinion to any group of pencil pushing yahoos in D.C. but... I don't live in D.C. and there are many others on this sight that have forgotten more knowledge on MVs than I will ever have. I...

    Using the trucks part 2

I think that may be a hydaulic tank but I'm not sure.

    5 ton transmissions.

:ditto: Like in a semi, no need to clutch when you know when the truck needs to shift. Only single clutch on the deuce because it is synchronized.

    Wood for bows

Kiln dried is best or air dry for one year for every one inch in thickness.

    Wood for bows

Oak would be the best. White oak if you can because it doesn't absorb water as fast as red oak does. I have a reliable source for both but it is kind-of pricy. You might try to find a local sawmill, he would probably have the best price. You could also use ash if you can find it but stay...

    Tag issue

I don't know about Alabamba but here I go with farm tags, I even have them on the semi. Also with commercial tags and a DOT you may be opening up a can of worms with your insurance. An expensive can! Our semi is not for hire so it works for me. You may want to purchase a pair of bib overalls...

    Sarge crashes his M1030

Sarge glad you are ok. You must be on the mend because you already see the humor, and you can't keep a good man down. I joind OTB when I was 15 and I am trying to keep my boys from joining. The humor on this site is great and it usually gives me learning examples for the boys. Alot of...

    towing a 5 ton

Its really a matter of being able to stop. If you can transfer weight from the towed vehicle to the tower this helps. (like a wrecker does) Also the DOT would have a serious fine for you (with a heavier vehicle in back) especially if any accident occured. I would rather not pay the haul fee...
