oh now that i think of it,those mid to late 80's mack midliners had a crazy mastercylinder setup that had air over hyd front with full air to the rear.works really well,and would let you have less worries about proportioning,especially with tandem rears and still allow you to use the juice 809...

ok i think i've got my wheel situation mapped out.now all i need is a bunch of the spacers that bolt to the hub of the steering axle on the m813(between the hub and wheel).
anyone out there have some laying in the weeds?or point me in the right direction? :banghead:

I WAS AT HIS PLACE..darn capslock...last fall and he had a 900 series rolling chassis,just the frame and axles,maybe the t-case too.
he and jean are nice folks.
the mack midliner series trucks use a sheppard stearing gear that mounts outside the frame.the box mounts to a huge bracket that bolts to the rail.this positions the pitman arm inboard with about 1" clearance to the frame rail.the gear is great ...the bracket being for a cabover isnt quite...
MY POINT EXACTLY...the other issue for me is release time.the air from a brake chamber can be dumped right away to atmosphere,whereas brake fluid is limited by the brake shoe pullback springs versus the orifice effect created by fluid returning to the master cylinder(s).the double chamber...

THE NUMBERS ARE MINDBLOWING....AND THE PRICE IS NOT THAT MUCH MORE THAN A STANDARD OVERHAUL KIT.CONSIDERING WHAT YOU GET...
close but not quite...224 represents the peak horsepower.actual hp at peak torque would be considerably less.if i had to guess i'd say 120-150hp@1350rpm ,and that might be optomistic depending on the volumetric efficiency.in my opinion there isnt much that'll out torque a properly prepared...
