Best to pull the floor pan to get to the valves on the top of the transmission if you have to work on them.
First check the air lines from that valve to the air cylinder on the front of the transfer case. The high volume of air you are losing makes it sound like the one to the reverse side of...
Wheel cylinder cups are NAPA United #14451 I don't know diameter.
To replace the rear seal you have to remove the oil pans and loosen all of the main bearing caps enough to allow the crank to drop down far enough to work out the seal top half. The bottom half is in the rear main cap; you have...
I order 6061-T6 aluminum round bar stock from McMaster-Carr and make our pins out of it. It has worked very well in our trucks for many years. We have definitely tested it out with farm equipment recovery operations. They do not have the exact diameter so I buy it a little larger and machine it...
We had a problem that acted similar to yours. We finally found a wire pinched under one front fender where there is a guard over the wires to the lights there. Evidently when someone put it back on, they pinched the wire, shorting it out. It blew a flasher for us. We also have had a problem turn...
It may have a dash tag that shows date of delivery to the military.
I do not think you will have any luck tracing its origin, etc. during its time in the military.
Manuals and maintenance/parts are no problem here, but I do not know in your area. If you can buy in the States and import with...
The same engine, less multifuel capability, was used in White 2-135 and 2-150 farm tractors and in Oliver 2050 and 2150 tractors. Attached are photos of a White 2-135 with a planter on it. These engines are very dependable in these tractors. this one has over 4,000 hours on it.
Low power??? I...
We have had good luck with putting a bead of RTV gasket sealer around the part, letting it set up a bit, then assembling the parts with no gasket.
You can also make a gasket if you need to with a sheet of gasket paper, scissors, and a ball-pein hammer.
These are expediency methods if you...

I think it is very possible you have both problems mentioned here. You could have air in the lines somewhere and brakes that need adjusted. The hard pedal can be caused by the combination of air and out of adjustment allowing the air pack cylinder to bottom out.
Look inside all of your wheels...
There are two levers on the transmission valve body. One connects to the shift linkage, the other to the carb linkage to sense throttle position. The one that senses throttle position adjusts transmission pressure upwards to prevent slippage at higher loads. It also controls shift points. By...
I saw the GL forklift driver lift a pickup that way up at Great Lakes and chewed him out for it. He seemed surprised. they just do not think or care too often.

We replaced a broken cable with a heavy duty pull cable like is used on chokes on older engines. If you want to stay original, order a new shut-off cable from Saturn or other supplier.
It is not good to keep killing it with the clutch.

1,000 inch pounds sounds quite low. did they mean foot pounds?
I used a winch on a machinery hauling shop truck that was similar to the deuce winches that had a hydraulic motor, specifications unknown, driven by the same PTO pump that ran the tilt bed. The motor had a small sprocket on it...
I keep hearing the back pressure question and have to wonder why it is a question. The object of good headers and a cam with overlap on a racing or street performance engine is to clean the by-products of the last combustion cycle out of the engine cylinder. The header length is designed to...
These trucks came from the military with silicone brake fluid in them. Look for a yellow tag on the dash or elsewhere on the truck under the hood that specifies that. If some well meaning person puts normal brake fluid in them, it turns the silicone fluid to jelly. Silicone is expensive, but it...
Try a sealant like the Alumaseal or Barr's Leak and cut a notch in the rubber seal on the spring loaded part of the pressure radiator cap to remove pressure. We do not run pressure on any of our vehicles. If the cooling system is in good order, you will not have a problem. Amazing how much less...
If I were considering it, I would tell myself the work involved was not worth the dividend from past experience. You will need access to your own welder, etc. and the ability to handle heavy parts. You would be ahead to have your own machine shop to make the needed adapters, etc., or it will be...
Scrap yards will have Dodge 8 hole 16" wheels. Another good place to look for them is at businesses that specialize in 4x4 truck work. They many times have nice take-off stock wheels someone traded in for special wheels for their 4x4. I believe it is Chevy rims that have the smaller center hole...
