    Electrical connector parts and crimpers

From a previous post: The Daniels tool with the right head would definitely do the job, but I think the silver one is the one that comes with the terminal kit form the military. The pdf catalog has a lot of interesting info on crimping if you like that kind of thing. Quote: The DMC...

    Dead batteries

The M1010 charging system rarely works correctly. I worked on mine a long time and finally got it to charge reasonably well but it would still go dead if it sat a couple of days. That was with new batteries. I ended up just unhooking the front ground at the end of the day. I would do the...

Rumor or Not - GL getting ready to Close some outlets

That's the one, but we have discussed it before and I didn't mean to hijack this thread. There is a section in there that states that the winner must get their own warehouse space and move the stuff off base within 14 days. I just couldn't make myself go through all of it again to post the...

Rumor or Not - GL getting ready to Close some outlets

Part of GL's new contract was to get off of all the active duty bases. I don't understand why Ohio would be any different or is it a National Guard base? I would assume that is why the trucks are showing up at National Guard bases around here. I posted links to the info a while back. link...

    carpet

For everyone who wants to put carpet in their deuce, now it is OK. It is an approved field modification. This is on GL right now.

Would you buy a surplus MLVW?

RE: Re: RE: Would you buy a surplus MLVW? I like the look of the tires and wheels they all seem to have.

    Changing the thermostat questions

I printed the page from the link in my last post and my local NAPA dealer was able to cross two of the numbers to a NAPA number. It is 4662. It is even made in the USA. One of the numbers was the one from the TM: 7748859. I haven't tried to put it in yet, but thought I better post the...

    Check this GamaGoat travesty

Then why don't they turn them back in? Doesn't seem like the best use of taxpayer's dollars to use them for a fence.

starting a cucv W/O glow plugs

WD-40 doesn't work any more. They changed the propellant which used to be methane? to carbon dioxide. I have used silicon spray with good results. You can use just a whiff of ether if you are 100% sure the glow plugs won't come on.

    Changing the thermostat questions

I haven't tried to get the seal out yet. It seems to be in there pretty good and I didn't want to damage it before I sourced a replacement. The lack of posts makes me wonder if anyone is bothering to replace it. Here is the part number from the AUGUST 2006 TM: NSN 5330-00-848-9943 part...

    Changing the thermostat questions

Are the newer type seals meant to be reused and if not is there a source for them?

    Changing the thermostat questions

From the TM. Number 9 is the part in question.

    Changing the thermostat questions

I have finally gotten around to working on my overheating truck and thought a good place to start would be to change the thermostat. At first I didn't think it had the rubber seal that you are suppose to remove and replace, but now I am not so sure. The TM pic looks like a split ring, but the...

Multifuel not fully warming up, 160 F thermostat

I am in the middle of changing my thermostat. I don't seem to have the seal pictured at the top. Also, according to the TM, you are suppose to discard it and replace it. Where do you get the seal? Anybody have a NAPA number?

    Redstone Listing Descriptions

RE: Re: RE: Redstone Listing Descriptions Camp Shelby is known to be a rebuild location. They are getting rid of a lot of trucks that were sent there to be rebuilt and they never got around to it.

    Redstone Listing Descriptions

I will add that the documented problems were at Montgomery when GL's lot got full and they couldn't move the MV into it. They were left in the same lot as the trucks still available to the NG for cannibalization.

    Redstone Listing Descriptions

I have been buying from Huntsville for years and they seem to be a little above average in their descriptions. BUT, the trucks are not at the Arsenal, they are at the National Guard Base. There has been discussion here that the trucks are still being cannibalized after GL gets them. I have not...

    Busy bee tire

Here is a link. Look for NETTLETON , MS about half way down the page. He has other sizes also. Is that really a good price on used tires? http://www.rockanddirt.com/perl/search.pl?method=search&pflag=T&&db=attachdb&catnum=2070&make=All+Makes
