    Secondary Fuel Tank

Amps are amps, the voltage across an unblown fuse is zero, so a ten amp fuse is a ten amp fuse is a ten amp fuse on 24v, 12v or 6v. The only time voltage rating comes into play is if the voltage is high enough to overcome the fuse housings dielectric rating. Since you are probably not...

    Road Trip, Deuce Parts

Yeah, but it did its job. It took a shellacking, kept its driver safe, and probably could still drive (although she was badly hurt).

    Road Trip, Deuce Parts

If I had had a bigger truck, or a trailer, I definitely would have come back with more. Although, as it was I was running out of money by time I left. For example, he had an intact cab sitting there on the ground. It will probably end up in the scrapper. I would have bought it just to have...

    Road Trip, Deuce Parts

I don't, I'm sorry, because the ones that came on the extra instrument panel will be going into my Jeep. If I did not need it, it would be yours. Jake indeed is a great guy. We were there at night so could not see all his toys. But I got a pretty good idea that he has some cool stuff. Could...

    Road Trip, Deuce Parts

Yesterday I made a day trip to pick up a bunch of Deuce parts. I ended up with both front fenders, a hood, instrument panel with gauges, two-channel mechanical Pyrometer, a lot of odds and ends, and a complete front spring setup in case I ever decide to build a bobber. The front fenders on my...

Found this knife in my five ton

I might be wrong, but it looks like a 5.00 Chinese special. Get it decent and use it for rough, utility work.

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

Drive onto a board - say 3/4 inch plywood - or a couple of scrap pieces of flat plate/diamond plate that spans the bed and the tail gate. Then even the stock Deuce tailgate chains should be OK.

My observations with 50wt in tranny

It's true that there is not much difference in terms of viscosity. I was taught that the difference is in the additives. Gear oil additives are optimized for heavy point contact. Motor oil is optimized for sliding friction with the load spread over a large area. The first question is what...

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

Not a bad design; going to 1 1/2 " angle will add a considerable amount of stiffness. 2", even more.

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

Instead of using 2x4's underneath to add stiffness, consider something else. Reason is the weight to stiffness that the 2x4's will add is not that good. Suggest using plywood. Rip 1/2" plywood, say 6 or 8" wide, the long way. Use construction adhesive and screws to attach to the edges of the...

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

Try the diagram with a second set of ramps, to ease the approach angle. Material choice and construction still needs to be carefully considered.

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

I think that there is a way to do this with wood, but not by using 2x stock. What might be needed is something where you have side flanges that add stiffness - like an I beam on its side. The challenge will be in constructing the ramps light enough to handle, but strong enough to carry the...

    Metallic detergents and WMO

I am not a chemist, so I don't know for sure, but I suspect that filtering the detergents from WMO is as feasible as filtering the brown out of coffee. I just don't think it can be done by filtering. Can it even be done by some chemical process? I don't know. But my suspicion, again, is that...

    Deuce Tailgate Crane

I'm thinking that the crane post gets attached to a square flat plate of proper thickness, sized as big as you can fit in there. You weld the inner 'slug' that goes into a 2" receiver to all four corners, extending down, and of whatever length. Then you weld 4 receiver tubes endwise in the bed...

    Deuce Tailgate Crane

Why not three or four 2" receiver mounts, end up and flush with the bed? Then you drop in the crane and have plenty of footprint and bracing, as the receiver tubes could extend down as much as needd. They would also serve as mounts for whatever else - a vice, searchlight, etc.

Anybody have any specs to make spin filter adapters?

I'm pretty sure that Archimedes and Euclid were not contemplating flying machines or batttle tanks. Similarly, unless I am mistaken, Maxwell et al did not innovate resonant, polyphase circuits. Amazing that compared to their genius, we are haggling over an oil filter mount. Sorry for getting...

Anybody have any specs to make spin filter adapters?

Curious - what ideas did DaVinci and Tesla use that came from others?
