    LMTV Air Conditioner

What lot# did that image come from? Under the radiator. It looks like the plate is missing though. I've been unable to find those brackets. I have a guy at BAE looking for me and failing providing the parts he said he could get the drawings.

Anybody on here win the LMTV M1078 radio truck in Johnston, IA?

I put in a $10K pre-bid on both. When I see stuff like this I smile as this makes my fleet that much more valuable.

    53" tires

It takes fuel to make power.. I've heard rumors of 1.75 reduction gears at the hubs and I've been trying to track a set down. The 3116 needs to be spinning ~1800 for best fuel consumption. I've also pursuing a reduction hub eliminator kit which would get cruise rpm to that range, but not sure...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

The rear as in back axle, not the intermediate axle. The intermediate axle is unique to the MTV. From http://www.allisons.org/ll/4/Stewart-S/FMTV/ "Interchangeability of components was an important design objective to ease servicing and reduce costs. For example, the 4×4 and 6×6 trucks share...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Front and rear axles are the same from 4X4 to 6X6. One issue that you may consider is the frame rails are made of heat treated steel, so cutting/welding etc could very well weaken it. I don't think you will end up any cheaper than buying a 4X4..

This is the factory pulley. You can probably machine the spacer in the crankshaft but you'd end up with a smaller diameter pulley.

My 95 model had plugged holes in the floor for the gen 2 unit. My 1998 did not.

Likely but I've been able to find aftermarket prices for all the brake parts at the local big truck shop. It's a Wabco part..

Won an LMTV M1081 out of Ft. Bragg

There is a relay valve attached to the parking brake system that requires the parking brake to be applied for the auxiliary hydraulics to work (cab tile spare tire etc). That valve could be your problem.. Also check the anti-compounding valve and inversion valve for the brakes. All can be...

Won a LMTV today, possible electrical issues.

The M1078 will fit in a C130 if the suspension is compressed using the on board hydraulics, and air the front tires down to 16 psi. The M1081 is used for air Drop Operations. The Air drop pallet is too tall for the standard M1078 so the M1081 has all the removable stuff.
