    M109A4 Sub-Zero Oil Field

I put it under the sheet rock on all the exterior walls and ceilings of my house. Sheet rock over that. Added a good bit of R value (was already maxed out in the stud bays) and made the house tighter and quieter. The incremental cost was negligible.

Pros and Cons of zipper boots

I got a set of zippered boots from deuceman51 (Troy). I haven't installed them yet but they seem ok. I also get my filters from him.

    My "Little" Jeep

That's one of the nicest trailer-spring bobbers I've seen. How did you attach the subframe?

    M109A4 Sub-Zero Oil Field

My truck has 11.00 x 20 'over the road' radial tires on the stock rims and so far I am happy with them. If memory serves (truck is not here with me right now) it has Goodyear G286's on it - but I might be mistaken. Whatever they are, they are great on the open road: quiet, good ride, great...

    M109A4 Sub-Zero Oil Field

I've made that drive from Denver to Billings and even at 95 mph it is a long ride. I can't imagine doing it at 55. A good thing about the east coast, if you can call it that, is that things are close enough together and congested enough that 55 can feel like you're flying.

    m35a2 fuel mileage

I just got 10 mpg with a good hour of idling, 11 x 20 tires, 4000 lbs in the bed, towing my Jeep Wrangler, with the hand throttle pulled out to go 55 mph on the flats - ran 58-59 downhill and 50-51 uphill - and this was on what we call mountains on the east coast, crossing CT and VT. Oh...

    Fording Kit Update

Someone please help me out here, is the crankcase of the multifuel engines open to the atmosphere, IOW, dirty, gritty air getting inside?

    Multi fuel turbos

Do whistlers whistle from the intake or the exhaust side of the unit?

    Hibernation

Mission successfully completed and with no drama at all. I had a good 4000 lbs in the bed and was flat-towing my Jeep. I could feel the extra weight up high but that was it. I needed a little more accelerator pedal, is all. I still was able to run 55 on the flats with the hand throttle set...

    Steel Brake Lines

Another urban legend I have heard over the years: in the US, DOT mandates double-flared connections. Can someone confirm or debunk?

    Pulling Tanks with The M816

    Dryer sheets.

    Steel Brake Lines

Brake lines - steel ones - are not produced out of the same alloy or coated the same as a that bracket. I know, it was a fuel tank bracket, but hey, a fuel tank can always just hang by the fuel lines! ;)

    Steel Brake Lines

The regular old steel tubing available at any parts store is the hot ticket, IMHO. Unless you drive your Deuce through brine and acid baths, these coated steel lines will last as long as the originals did. They are inexpensive and easy to form and flare. The one tool you need for sure is a...

    Hibernation

Fueled it up tonight, got my checklist. Tomorrow final packing, a few chores and I'm off.

Does this look weak or am I just over-reacting

The sad thing is that this truck will probably end up being purchased by some poor soul who does not have a clue about what to look for and who will purchase it because it looks cool. Then, because it is a bullet-proof military truck, the new owner will take it out for a thrash and gues what is...

    5 ton "Shorty"

Really nice, a perfect daily driver.

    Steel Brake Lines

An interesting item that I believe to be true but perhaps someone can confirm: In the UK, copper brake lines are permitted (because copper gives and single-flare conenctions are permitted) and steel lines are not (because they can rust). In the US, steel lines are permitted (because they are...

    Hibernation

It's supposed to, although this will be the first time I flat tow it. I have to watch out to avoid sharp turns (LOL, sharp turns with a Deuce) so that the corner of the truck does not wipe out the Jeep fender.

    Hibernation

It's not a bad suggestion at all. I'll leave it unlocked with the key in. Also, transfer case in neurtal and transmission in gear. I also have lights hooked up. Fairly good tow bar and a mutha of a safety chain.
