I THINK this is right, but we're trying to get ahold of someone from her old unit to verify we've got it right. (the above is just paper taped there as a mock-up).
LOL -- Back in about 1998 or so my daughter was set in the front seat of a HMMWV at the Minnesota State Fair. She reached over and started it right up! (She was 2 at the time.). [Mom was in the Army Reserve and brought her to visit a few times... Clearly she'd watched how to start it.] The...
I'm using an old photo from my housemate as an example to put identifiers on my HMMWV.
She said the tailgate says:
88 C-R
HQ
114 CSH
11
So 88th Army Reserve, 114th Combat Support Hospital, HQ, 11th vehicle.
What would the front fender numbers be for this? And how would they have...
Around here, the green stuff (AND ONLY the green stuff) they claim you can pour into the sanity sewer (NOT SEPTIC SYSTEM!). And it'll be processed as normal. Just don't pour down stuff contaminated with oil or other fluids. (I was surprised as well.)
For the other color stuff, I've not found...
(looking under the hood) Yours are visible from the 'grill side'.. That is the same orientation that my existing hood had -- which is opposite of the manual. I'm thinking the manual itself is wrong. Thanks, this makes me think I did it right.
Yup, thats why I asked if people have any pictures of the seal. (I unfortunately don't, I'll take some in the morning when it's light out.). But it's the orientation of #16 below.
I'm in the process for building a "new" hood. While looking at the parts manual (figure 203) item 16, compared to my old hood the orientation on my old hood is backwards from how it's shown in the diagram.
Can someone take a picture and show me how your radiator seal is mounted to the hood...
Spent the day working on the replacement hood..
"New" hood from SECO. Clearly it was "fixed". (looks reasonably well, but there are a few places I needed to drill out as well as a few places where some body putty will be needed to fill some small holes.
First thing I did was install the...
Lights.. whenever I see a HMMWV / Hummer H1 in a movie, I always look at the lights. H1 doesn't have the front blackout light, and the front markers are square.
On the back, again square (with reverse) for the tail lights.
H1 also had to conform to the 'wide vehicle' lighting requirements...
2003 6.5L GEP - 20 psi idle, 50 psi max... When I first got it, it was reading 60psi all the time. I think both the gauge and original sender were bad.. replaced them as a pair and everything has been fine.
There was some ruling in Wisconsin (not sure if it was state or Federal) that the HMMWV meets emissions due to the national security exemption. The way the law is written, it only affects the vehicle at the time it is built.
Now Vermont MAY have some other law that is more specific.
But pay...
Not sure this is applicable on the HMMWV, but on solid axle vehicles often need to raise/lower a corner of the vehicle to get it aligned. (Not always the corner you are working on!)
I think we're basically saying the same thing. You need to be aware of the vehicle and it's capabilities. It's NOT a modern vehicle with modern safety features. (My 1988 definitely has a LOWER center of gravity then some 1980's Jeeps I've driven, but....) I'd say this is very much 1982...
The roll over, while unlikely doesn't seem to be any worse then a mid 80's Jeep (soft-top) either. These things were designed with different requirements than a modern vehicle.
I agree, I wouldn't drive mine anywhere near 85 MPH! But 55? I'm comfortable with it on dry known roads.
Ya, it likely isn't worth your time -- which is why they do it. However, this is the kind of thing that IS worth the time for the attorney general for the state in which the auction happened. I can promise that Richie Bros doesn't want to lose their auction license in that state. A few...
Unless they listed them as a reserve auction... If you can show the item was canceled and relisted, the attorney general for the state the auction occurred in might want to know.
Most states license auctions, and that type of stuff is frowned upon. No reserve, sells for a low price so they...
