I used a optical tach sensor like chevymike shared. The tach by sound, well, isn't that precise.
@Camolad best to start up a new thread or post in another alternator thread about replacement options. I don't think there's a readily available one at most parts stores anymore. But if you have...
Correct. The pickup is to pick up the field changes to act as a signal for the tach. There's an adjustment method to these tachs. You will need a optical tach to set it up to start with.
I have one, but I actually use it for the various guns I use from it. If I didn't own brownings and such, I wouldn't own one, just no need for it. And it's one more place for rain to leak in.
I'm excited to announce another giveaway, this time it is sponsored by www.hawkerbattery.com for 2 brand new Hawker 6T AGM batteries! Just reply to this thread and you'll be entered to win. Only ONE entry is required. (Multiple replies will not be counted and will be removed) We'll hold the...
Tell you what. A very simple a cheap test you could do to see if this bears any feasibility is to build a simple injector pop off adapter out of an old bottle jack, injector, and injector line. You can setup your inductive heater over the injector and heat it up however you like. Then test...
We're burning 30% of the energy out the exhaust because it's a ICE and we'll, again physics. That's also why turbochargers help with efficiency by turning the lost thermal energy into boost to help airflow.
The automotive manufacturers are trying to increase mileage, because they're mandated...
The systems I'm speaking of use the heating element wire wrapped around the injector lines POST injection pump.
You're asking for a precision machined part that runs at a certain tolerance to be heated through induction to retain the same tolerance. From a machining perspective, that's just...
I have seen others use the idea, but differently, using heating element wire on the injector lines and injectors to help heat the fuel before the injectors. This was for WVO operation. They still used the glow plug system as well of course. I do have some concerns though with the idea...
