    HMMWV Mechanic

If you own a green metal machine you really need to learn to spin a wrench on them or go broke paying someone else to do it. No offense just my .02 cents. Mark

    Mirrrors

Yeah the price is a bit high for sure but they do work well and mine have been on for a few years with zero issues. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. Mark

And these trucks are so easy to work on if they ever have any problems which is highly unlikely. The repair parts are very inexpensive and readily available everywhere. If you believe the above I have this really nice bridge for sale for an unbelievable price. Mark

Yellow Top Battery Install (battery box)

Put in a solarizer unit. Helps keep the batteries from sulfating over extended periods of time. My truck sits over the winter here in New England and in the spring is still charged up ready to go. Been using the unit for years. Mark

It's the same mirrors just re-boxed and increased the price.

The adapters make installation easy. The jeep mirrors can be had on Amazon or Fleabay. Jeep door mirrors Jeep door mirrors to HMMWV X doors adapters. X Door adapters

You can tighten the Jeep mirrors and mine don't move at all and work great. I have a light bar and made the stock mirrors useless on the pass side. Mark

    Are these batteries any good...?

I went with two Optimas with the adapter trays for a great fit. Almost three years now with no issues. I also run a Pulsetech Solagizer. I park my Hmmwv for the winter and that unit helps keep the batteries up to snuff. Mark

    Are these batteries any good...?

Obviously a load test is the only way to properly test a battery but if you have one with noticeably less voltage them you have a battery with issues.

    Are these batteries any good...?

Check the batteries independently of each other for voltage. Should be around 12.6 12.7 for a fully charged battery. After it's been sitting for a bit. (Flooded)

First stop is the fuel filter and then take it from there. Mark

    Denied access to Mess hall?

A urine and stool sample is required for expired subscriptions beyond 90 days. I think this requirement is over the top but I don't make the rules here so... Mark

    Top speed

I agree, 60mph for a three speed and 70mph for a four speed. Any more than that you are pushing things. The portals don't like much more than that either. At this stage of the game I'm not in much of a hurry. My new co-pilot for the 4th of July parade Wakefield MA.

Glow plug day for my 1151a1 rev

Yes good luck. These can be a real bear. Some you get from up top some from down below and the rears from inside the cab. Horrible design from the get go. Please make sure to use some copper never seize on the threads of the new ones. I sure hope you got real ones and not that chicom junk. Mark

    Bleeding brake cylinders on M151A1

Don't forget to swap out the winter air in your tires for summer air.

    Bleeding brake cylinders on M151A1

You got some bad info. Easiest way is to have someone help you and bleed the brakes. Start with the wheel cylinder farthest from the master cylinder and work your way up. Mark

    Two Stars of WWII

I had a chance to work on one many years ago along with a Corsair owned by the same guy. I was very humbled and grateful. Mark

    Nightmare for a noob…….

If leaking oil at the air filter it could be a transmission fluid leak due to a vampire leak . Check your tranny fuild kevel. Check to see if the fluid in the air filter housing is red tranny fluid. If so it would explain a number of issues. Mark
