Painted the area black. Hopefully tonight I can measure hose lengths.
To add to the questions above….
a friend of mine asked if I could simply split the crimp ferrules off of the old hoses and reuse the fittings with new crimp ferrules. I am guessing it would be hard to match, but as...
Ok, one more quick question.
if you look at the line heading along the right to-what I am assuming is a thermostat valve. The hose comes up a bit high. It looks like the fitting there is just another straight o-ring boss with a jam nut. Should I at all be concerned with turning that down with...
Made more progress. I trimmed the angle in place with a cut off wheel. Not too bad for freehanding it. I wish it looked better, but no one will see it and it is functional, so I am moving on.
You can see that I can now get a wrench on the backside now.
primed the bare metal, will...
One quick question….
my hose connections into the cooler will need to turn a bit to aim more downward. I assume I loosen the jam nut then twist the body to my new angle, then tighten the jam nut again.
any gotchas to worry about?
Made some progress.
My truck is extended 38” behind the rear bulkhead where the original pintle used to be and the space left over is just large enough for the cooler.
I reused the angle iron from the original mounts. You can see here the A1R rear clip added on.
I need to go back because...
I took the cooler free…. Man that thing does not look as heavy as it really is. I pictured it weighing like a car radiator. Not so.
So far I drained about a gallon out of the hoses and radiator. Next step is to mount the cooler so I can measure for hoses.
One thing I noticed is the...
Just throwing this out there….
If you did a 24v charger, I would have a battery balancer so you do not overcharge one of your batteries.
I have a balancer (not installed yet), but I have mine for another reason.
For my charger, I have a two bank 12v Noco charger. Each charger bank is...
What “commercial” batteries did you use?

No problem. There should be a connector that is round attached to the original mounting bracket. That is your port for reading codes. Make sure you can still access that. Maybe route that cable off to the side or flip the cab to access. Preferably on the side of it will reach.

Yeah, that looks promising. I would like to find one that had an internal spline as well (not just a set screw). I also need to measure my splines to see what they are.

Sorry if I was not clear.

Need front flaps to pivot on the double bogie and rear flap to pivot on center bogie.
I can figure the rest out from there.

That is why I was hesitant to grind. I think with a crescent wrench, I may be able to turn it. But, it does bind on both the top and bottom at the same time. Makes me think they designed it to be tight or goofed up at fab.
