    Gen 1

That won't matter either way. I never dove into alternators real deep. My trucks showed 14.2 on the front battery and I think about 28.4 on the rear battery. I could be wrong, but I think you are using the wrong contacts to measure the voltage. Good Luck.

    Gen 1

I have a local shop rebuild my alternators and starters. Auto Electric Services | Leidy Repair | Lebanon, PA I could buy 2 new alternators and have them converted to isolated ground for $350. I tried the $15. way and it was a failure. There is more to rebuilding anything mechanical then...

    Cab leaking

Yes, these old trucks need some TLC and adjustments. The doors may not be closing tightly, and the seals are not compressed enough to seal the water out. And the trucks do not have a drip gutter like the civilian counterparts so that adds to the problem when the water must run down the inner...

Can't get hood or tail gate to open help

Push in on the rear gate when opening it. It was designed to be pushed in on it. Imagine a child sitting in the back putting the handle and the gate falling open. Safety design. And using WD 40 is like peeing on it. Wet and slippery for a few minutes and gone. Good old squirt can with oil or...

    Can I use gasser downpipes?

I had and M1009 that had an exhaust on it from a 305 /350 Blazer . The tailpipes looked like milkshake straws , but it worked. It was free and it was stainless steel front to back. Came off a state blazer that had a blown engine. Very rusty truck and the engine was bad before the exhaust was put...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I was doing some cleaning out of my basement and came across these glow plug cards. Is there anyone that does repairs of the circuit cards? It may be that 2 of the 3 are fine. I only see 1 burnt resistor but would rather know they are good before assuming they are good.

    Parking brake stuck

Dicoonect them from the main cable and see if they are releasing. There is nothing that is serviceable on a brake cable. They either move smoothly or they don’t and the entire cable assembly needs replaced.

    Parking brake stuck

I am guessing here but what do the brake cables look like? I would opt to replace the brake cables and start new. Good Luck.

    M1008 heater

Under the dash there is a 10mm hex head bolt on the very right side. Under the hood there are 3 or 4 11mm hex head nuts on studs. CUCVRUS Repair Projects

As sad as it may be I have been employed as a vehicle crusher. I crushed lots of vehicles. Memories of several Blazers, pickups, Suburbans from the 60”s thru the late 80s. Many Scouts , Jeeps. Pony cars, thousands over the years. That was and still is what happens to vehicles that are worn out...
