I found a deal on the 9/16” Skookum snatch blocks that look like the one in Awesomeness picture. So, I think I am set based on everyone’s feed back. I don’t have the safety latch for the hook..... anyone know where to get them?

So I called Skookum and asked them about the snatch blocks.
They said that they only made the 9/16 and 5/8 size snatch blocks for the army.
So, my interpretation is that either these trucks used a different brand snatch block for these trucks, or they were using a larger pulley than the...
Why so high?
I was thinking of doing something similar, but so I can almost walk through it.
Are you concerned about your cab strength? That corner frame piece I think is important.

Is it “OK” to run a 9/16 or 5/8 snatch block on a 1/2 SRW wire rope?

One thing that would be really nice, if you sell stencils, make them with alignment features, so you can align them to parts of the truck to make them perfect. For example, if you made the air filter stencil, put all text on one sheet with arrows and make it round to align to the lid. Then it...
Tell me more about this diverted valve option. I was thinking it would be fun to have a log splitter attachment on disconnects, but having long leveling rams would be nice Too.
I am seriously thinking of independently wiring mine. Mine is not wired yet.

Coach,
It is a pain, as in you have to be a contortionist some times, but everything has a place and the install is straightforward compared to reinventing the wheel.
Also, you can run your tires while winching. You have to push the buttons in the right order. I have a post on that somewhere...
Plus the hydraulic ones have 280 feet of cable that can go front or rear.
For me it was a no brainer.... anything else would be harder to improve on that. Only improvement I would do if I had spare cash is put in a stronger PTO.

Took me and another guy three 12 hour days.
Had multiple tool and bolt runs plus rebuilt the rollers.
We could have done it much faster had we known how to do it. Luckily Awesomeness was doing the same thing at the same time, so we were able to bounce ideas.
I still got bit, I have a bolt...
Using tire pressure to level is a bad idea IMHO. For one, you are talking about some inches of difference from a full tire and one that is at a safe (not damaging tire) level. Second, your suspension will take some of that and average your results a little. Third, you are talking about modifying...
