Any progress on this? As others have stated, the smoke you have is telling you that the issue is most likely air driven. Blower quill shaft or intake flapper would be my guess.
Have you removed the air filter and had a look see?
After you stop cranking, there are no sounds like air trying to...
Sorry, only there 2 days a week, went to the dez for 10 days then got the flu. I looked yesterday, 7th month of 2006 on the date codes. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/1100x20-firestone-t831-tires.212638/
They work very well in sand cars. I have seen 3 rotor cars keep the front end up for the complete 1/8 mile. CAn't find videos of cars in the dunes, but here's one of a sand drag event.
And, we are getting a bit off topic.......and I contributed to it :(
Nylon v.s strattoflex type might be a wash. Fittings are through the roof on prices!
It is only the line that tells the dryer to pop off. Only a small amount of air/pressure there for a second.

The way I see it, if you were stuck somewhere and had to re-use it, do it. I have re used head and base gaskets on air cooled and water cooled moto-x bikes a few times and once or twice on 283s and 396. BUT, would it be worth it to reuse it in the position you are in just to have it possibly...
Those tires are outside, but covered and on wire pallets. They were mounted, trucks drove to their parking spot and a few weeks later driven to the shop, removed and here they are. I'll get a date code maybe later today.
Keep in mind, a diesel will have a lower engine speed, 2000 to 2500 rpm. The gasser turns more than that so you will have a loss in road speed. Somewhere around 2-4 mph per 100 rpm. If the gas engine spins 3000 at 55 mph, you will end up running around 40 mph with a diesel and a 3 mph per 100...
I have made many harnesses and used Scotch 33 to spiral wrap and at the ends and joints. Joints I used tape under the split loom and T splitters over the tape. Never had an issue.
Very cool. Nothing was meant as a dig to anyone. I used to love what I did. Nothing better than having something come to you running poorly and leave you purring like a kitten!
I have been forced to use it here. First, the price of "diesel"....not gonna call it real diesel, cause it aint'....here in So Cal is STILL + $6 a gallon, almost $1.50 more expensive than low grade gasoline. Second, it stinks coming out the tailpipe. I have noticed almost 1 MPG less over the...
Thank you. Many moons ago, on Saturdays, a guy I worked with and myself would go out to a warehouse in Santa Fe Springs and do nothing but tune ups. $150 w/o jakes, $200 with. We would average 24 overhead sets for the day, unless the majority were cab overs. Right around 30 mins w/o brakes and...
I might have mis forgotten. The front fitting needs removal. All the rest, swear words, tongue and length of time between removal and instllation still apply!
Maybe mis remebered...it has been a year since I did one!
