    Dummy load bank

Hurry up and get that ticket! I'm up to a general now. I'm about to start studying for my extra. I honestly had planned on getting General at most. But I hear so many neat conversations on HF that are in the extra band segments, that it made me want to go all the way. Couple of days ago I...

    Dummy load bank

300 Ohms. 200 watts each. So wired as they are, 50 ohms and 1200 watts to air. The submersion in oil allows you to cheat in a sense. The oil is a dielectric and a heat conductor. So you can easily double the capacity, almost triple it. (Depending on the oil, mineral oil is only about...

    Dummy load bank

So I'm picking up a legal limit plus amplifier soon. But I have nothing to handle the load. Until now. I was given a 1kw AM transmitter load bank from a fellow ham. Ive read about the old heathkit cantenna dummy loads and decided to make something along those lines from it. I picked up a...

How to clean out old pics

If the forum rules allow an edit. BUT it will remain in your uploader since the cron would have ran and made the association with the file/post. To explain the cron thing simply. Imagine a robot that runs on the hour with the task of taking pictures and putting a copy in a filing cabinet...

How to clean out old pics

You cannot remove images from the top segment. Only from posts. Unless it's uploaded, then deleted immediately before the cron.

How to clean out old pics

Hover over the image in question in the top right to see the X. If it's an attachment that lives in a post elsewhere that cannot be deleted/edited, then you will (should) not be able to do anything with it. You must be in the specific post to have the images on the bottom segment of the...

You can use the picture icon above the text window in either quick reply or full reply. (Middle row of icons between the two world icons and the quote bubble icon) This will give you the option to insert an image embedded into your post. (Or delete the embed and it will remain in the post as...

How to clean out old pics

Manage attachments with the pop up window allows for 10 image uploads (or other attachments). However if you use the Quick Reply window and click on the image icon above it, you can embed up to 20 images per post. Course this is done image by image.

How to clean out old pics

Correct. If the image is used elsewhere on the site, it remains. If it's not, then a cron (automated) job will clean it up from the server. If you uploaded a pic and then went back and deleted it years later, the cron isn't going to pick that up.

How to clean out old pics

For historical purposes, here's a screenshot of my previous post. So here's how to manipulate the images. Click on the edit of the post in question, then click on manage attachments. The full fledged attachment manager will open up. You can see the pic I uploaded there. If you hover...
