M1008, M1010, M1028, and M1031's had 4.56 gears Tim, not 4.10. Governed high idle (AKA redline) is 3400rpm.

Once you get accustomed to the speedy stitcher, it's easy to make quality repairs with it. Best MV tool I've purchased to date. Cheapest too!

There's no way I'd give up a drive axle for higher top speed. The other side of the coin is that you're going to loose what little takeoff it had as well. I'd do a transmission/engine swap before I'd plunk down $$$$ to reduce gearing. Just seems like a trade off to me, and little in return.

It's alive! I had already ordered a ESD5221 controller, it ended up working, just has extra functions I'm not using. A cheaper controller could be used. It wasn't running that well at first, lots of raw fuel out the exhaust. But that cleared up afterwards. Also I had to adjust the speed...

I finally got popped for my 5 ton SEMTT. Paid $290 for weighted tags for it up to 55K lbs.
