I have somebody approach and tell me a story almost every time that I take one of my vehicles out for a spin. Either a veteran reliving his youth, or a familly member (had one lady at Lowes once tell me that her slowing down to admire my USMC M37 had saved her a speeding ticket -- she then...
Good to hear. Also good to hear that Westy got that lot of stuff...I hated to think that somebody unworthy might have snagged it out from under him...
Got my fingers crossed for them.
It's a small world... :)
I'll make sure that we take a few photos in front of the packing shed for you, it is a great spot for a "beauty" shot.
If you ever make it up to the area, hollar and we'll get together for a ride and/or a drink or three...
Meanwhile, we'll avoid taking anything up...
As Mike says, I'll be on-site around lunch on Friday (Aug 13) through lunch on Sunday (Aug 15) in order to do some work on the trials, etc. If you're in the area and want a preview of things to come, let me know so that I can meet up with you.
I've got about four trails that are new (that we...
For some odd reason, that never worked on my computers (at work or at home) with the version of the photo viewer that has been on this site since the "big" update... It works for me with the software viewer that is running today...
I know enough about computers to be real dangerous...
The version of the photo viewer this morning looks like an update on what we had before... You can't roll over to the next photo in the thread (just the next one that the poster put in that particular response) and clicking on the side of the photo brings up a new page with the photo and not...
Hello from Raleigh! Glad to see you here on the forum and hope to see you in person when I make a run down your way (I get to your area of the state about once every two months...).
I was seriously thinking about riding up and bringing along those two engines for you, but it looks like I am going to end up spending my weekend wrenching on all three of my five tons... Two need front seals/boots replaced, one needs brake work...
You don't need a color chip for them to match.
All you need to tell them is that you need it to match FS 595b 24084 to get the same color as the 1958 24087. They will have the formula in the computer, or they can contact the manufacturer of the paint that they sell in order to get the...
There is a long post by David Doyle on this site discussing paint COLOR and the changes to the colors as a result of updates to the Federal Standards. In short, the current 24084 is the same COLOR as the 24087 that was used on the M37 when it was first built. As far as the paint goes...
Lug nuts on a M101 or M101A1 (both with the Budd 6.50Hx16 wheels with the GY-LTS lockring) are. Same lugnut that you find on a M105, M35, M37, etc. The later model M101A2 and M101A3's have different (smaller) lugnuts since they match up with Chevy's and HMMWV's respectively.
Don't forget...
Good to hear that things went smoothly and that you've got her. I was over at Bragg yesterday picking up stuff, else I would have been happy to help you wrench (although it sounds like you had everything well in hand).
Congratulations.
I'll have to scratch my head on this... I think that I can ride up for it (and it would give me a chance to haul some stuff up to your place AMG...).
I'll have to snag some of those photos from the past for my collection, esp that one with a certain dumptruck with a Mack cargo truck on the...
Welcome, and Congratulations on the new ride!
If you are new to the hobby and in NoVA, you might want to consider joining a bunch of us in Syria (Madison County), VA over the Labor Day weekend (Sept 2-6, 2010 to be exact) for some trailriding/fellowship/food/parts trading, etc.
Info on the...
We have the website up and running for the event. Still have a few things to tweak (shirt prices, some of the photos from last year, route map to the exact camping location, things to do in the area other than play with the MV's), but the basics are there including site and registration...
They are extremely good with a forklift... Everything I have ever seen them load with one (or just move around, etc.) has been done with "kid gloves"... There is always a first time for a screwup, but so far, so good.
The guys at Bragg have been very helpful with loading in the past (but it may just be me...).
I'll be there on Thursday of this week loading trailers...
I'm between Raleigh and Garner...Just saw this thread... If you need to towbar it offsite (I think I know which site it is located at...), send me a PM...
I also know some folks in the area who are familliar with these (like the Sargent down the hall...) although I confess to not knowing much...
