    Vacuum pump position

I have mine set closer to the passenger side. At the base of the vacuum pump there is a bolt (7) and a plate ( 8 )that holds the pump in place. Tighten that bolt (7) to prevent oscillation.

    Help with lift pump install.

Yes. Turn to find the low spot. It will still be a challenge to apply pressure on the pump and get the bolts started.

    Central FL M1031 project

The truck is running and driving well! I did find the belts that work best for me. 7570 for driver’s side, 7480 for passenger. Both a snug fit getting over the pulleys, but more room for adjustment. I was reading a post about the vacuum regulator valve and how to adjust it. I made the .646”...

    Central FL M1031 project

A new question has arisen. I have read on several of the threads in this forum about using clear fuel line at the IP return line to watch for bubbles. I installed one today as I was bleeding the system before the restart. I have noticed while it was running that there was a small stream of tiny...

The engine is alive again! cooling system has been well flushed, new coolant is in. Going to run it every day and make sure it burps well. Then it will be time to put the hood back on. Also experimenting with alternator belts. I only use Gates. The 7575 works for the driver’s side but uses all...

    Glow plug solenoid wiring

Here is a copy of the colorized wiring diagram. I have circled the glow plug relay so you can trace all the wires for an original setup.

    Central FL M1031 project

Making good progress going back together. I have made a change in the wiring harness. I have gotten tired of struggling with the small wire to the starter solenoid. So, to ease my struggles in the future I have pulled that wire out of the engine harness and routed it to the passenger side...

    Question for every cucv owner

I am glad you came back to the forum with your questions. there are several ways to get the road speed you want. You can get bigger tires (may need to massage the fenders for clearance issues). You can go a turbo route. You can change the transmission to the 4l80e. You can change the ring and...

1986 (Chevy 6.2) Eagle Bobtail MB4 Power Steering

The power steering for the front wheels should come from the standard chevy pump located low on the drivers side of the engine. You can almost see the filler cap in your first pic (post #4) below the thermostat housing.
