Well theres your problem right there:) you can move that cable that was on the broken load stud and put it on its associated battery stud and you should be back operational…
In writing something to someone else IRT a LBCD it occurred to me that a mis-wired LBCD might also cause your issues. there are 6 major lines, Battery, Alternator and Cab cables for both 12 and 24V.
If the alternator cables somehow got put on the LBCD “load” terminals instead of with the...
Well you can just bypass it. It has 4 terminals 24v battery, 24v load, 12v battery, 12v load. It replaced the original polarity protection device and still has diodes between the battery and load terminals.
The LBCD added the function of monitoring the alternator output voltage and RPM to...
No, the lbcd isnt really in the circuit between alt and batts, alt and batt cables are connected together on the batt terminals of the lbcd as a tie point...
On the A0, the speedometer is driven by a pulse signal(pulse per mile/pulse per shaft revolution) signal from the transmission That is derived from a sensor in the transfer case counting the gear teeth on the 26 tooth main output gear. I have not been able to determine if this signal is...
ok, I dont see fully charged batts dropping to 5v in one hour under normal properly connected operating conditions…
I will say it one last time, do a 100A battery load test AT the alternator terminals(truck off) on both the 12 and 24v circuits. you do have 12 and 24 AT the alt right? This alt...
Yea, out of stock. Midwest doesnt even list a price for one anymore, but they will sell you the one shown in the videos above for $300 with some fittings amd pigtail installed...
Well the default if it quits is fan on/running, so not a lot of liability. How deep are your pockets, last one I saw from any vendor was north of $600... i have a used one i will sell you...
You dont have a VIM. It used to be where they put the TCU under the pax dash. The TCU was with the control panel on the A0 that used a VIM.
Your power comes right out of the power panel and any relays used for neutral start or any other output functions they installed in the power panel...
My first step in troubleshooting an lmtv electrical. Check battery 12&24 to chassis ground, then check panel 12&24 at the round test points(A0) or batt test point Bolts(A1 panel). Panel test points should be 1/2v less than battery. ~12.3/25.2 with 12.8v on all the batteries.
Then turn on the...
Engine off, If you have 24v at the alternator 28v bolt to ground, that is coming from the batteries. You can get 24v from that bolt to apply to the exc terminal on the reg with a small piece of wire. But since the alt is going over battery resting voltage I suspect it is probably getting what...
Well as mentioned, they make noise, and being a less than 100% efficient gearbox, they make heat.
Basic Sesame Street troubleshooting dictates that they should all make the same amount of noise and heat. hand felt temp or a basic IR heat gun is all you need…
that other adjustment on the back may be a selector switch to set a range, then the cal refines it… this looks like something that would be done on a bench with an electronic pulse generator set to mimmic the pulse output from the transmission at a given speed and adjust the instrument to that…
