Does it happen to say city of boston dept of civil defense on the door??? I know someone on here that spotted one today in a salvage yard somewhere near boston, can't remember quite where. But the one he spotted was said to be rather rusty( like the pic you posted) and in fact a 108. Have any...
Ok, well stretch I can see about those parts for you, waiting on my contact to let me know on prices for the other stuff so i may or may not need any of the things i mentioned. Still would hook you up anyway tho if i can.:-D
As far as the parts search goes it couldn't be better. Just got a call from a fellow SS-er about a complete but rusty 108 in a junkyard to my south an hour or so:-) Looks too far gone to save but good enough for lots of parts. If anyone wants a 108 bed now is the time to PM me and i'll ask them...
Go up to the resources tab at the top of the page. Go to technical articles. Someone was nice enough to compile a list of all the NAPA as well as other autoparts dealers part number cross references. Go have a look and you should be all set.:-D
First let me say how much i hate you guys... This place it the opposite of AA, here the mantra is "come on , one more won't kill ya" Now to the real story....After all the cries of SAVE IT SAVE IT i had to act, not to mention it is way too cool to begin with. So here for your viewing...
:ditto:
get writing, i need something more to read about the deuce :-)
Way to go on the outdoors loving kid, no one seems to get in the outdoors anymore. If everyone spent some quiet time out in the woods the world would be a better place IMO.
Now that would be more likely to work, i think. But at the same time and i'm not sure why, i don't think i would try it. Can't shake the feeling that somehow it wouldn't work well. If i can put it into words i'll let ya know. Till then keep up the thinking, an out of the box type idea is whats...
Nice thinking but while it would handle the pressure, it wouldn't handle the heat. I think it would have a blowout the first time you got on the petal a bit and the charge air got good and hot. Could be wrong just my 2 cents. Best of luck in whatever you come up with, its a sweet mod.
Yup, isn't this a fun game ??? I'm not the guy to ask on GL dealings but if you type GL into the search box i'm sure you will come up with several days worth of reading.
Well.......pretty much. You gotta register with GL and give them a credit card for them to charge your win to. Then you actually win it, then you fill out the EUC and wait.....and wait some more and then if you are lucky you take it home. Not usually a quick process but if you want a 1009 its GL...
Welcome Andy, no this isn't a military only forum. It is the best place on the internet for anyone wanting info about military vehicles :-) GL sells exclusively to those in the private sector, if anyone in the Govt. wanted it you would never see it. Feel free to ask any questions you have...
Yup, trailer worked just fine on its short trip behind the deuce. It is indeed a 3/4 ton trailer for anyone thats wondering. Current batch of oil/ gas is almost gone, from now on all my free fuel will be coming from an even better source......lets just say the oil is all from REALLY nice cars...
I shall Pm you an address right off of 95 so its easy for ya, you won't be able to miss me as i'll be in the deuce :-) There is a big shopping plaza right off 95 in salisbury i just need to go lookup an address.
Cool design but i can't shake the feeling that it wouldn't do too well offroad. Just imagine how much it would weigh if you went thru a bunch of thick sticky mud and it filled in all the air spaces. With the 4 of em mud filled i think you would be hard pressed to go faster than 10 miles an hour...
Yup, i can hang onto it for as long as required, It can park right next to the deuce, just a few min off of 95 and about 5 min from the NH border. I will be making a deuce run up Rt 16 to the osippee area hopefully in the coming weeks if that helps. No issue dragging it along.
Now is a great time for you to reroute the pipe to exit at roughly window level to help combat annoyingly loud music played from lowered civics...LOL:twisted:
