M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

I have both the brush guard and winch. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/my-new-1992-m998-avenger.184818/post-2202543 And the rear winch. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/my-new-1992-m998-avenger.184818/post-2416186

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Maxjeep1, Ok, Now I understand what you meant about the chain. Action, The bow is not where the hitch is, it's about a quarter of the way from the left side. It's also on the side with the bent hinge. It's not a gradual bow either, almost a kink or a bend. Again, I think it was in an...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I took it apart because it is too rigid to untwist while assembled. I think I can fix it much easier apart. I believe it is twisted due to an accident in the rear of the vehicle but I am not sure.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

If all you wanted was for the tailgate to be close, that might have worked. One of the reasons I didn't do that is the hinge is bent and needs to be fixed. The hinge attaches to metal that is thinner and when you try to straighten the hinge it just bends the metal it is attached to rather than...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

One of the hinges is bent and where both of them attach to the tailgate the tailgate is bent. Here it is with the top removed. you can see the end fillers and the hinges above it. After it was all disassembled I tried to capture the essence of the Twistedness. You can see I tried to...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Started another project today, the tailgate! I mentioned previously that I would like to put on an "AM General" embossed tailgate. My truck is registered as an AM General pickup. Here's the story that goes with it. I found one on FB and the seller sent me pictures (he had a couple). It...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Here's the video of the RPM test. I was able to see about 10-15 RPM on the low side and 114 RPM on the high side in both directions.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I have a digital hall effect sensing tach that I bought a few years ago for a project Lathe I built. I bought 2 at the time to have a spare but never used it. Today I mounted it in the case it came in and set it up. The Red Square is the tach. The Arrow points to the magnet and the Oval is...

    My M998 build log

It was easy to find the old thread where you got your information from however it is wrong and was posted as hearsay (heard from a friend who heard from a friend, etc). Owning both and actually doing it are 2 completely different things. Please post the pictures of when You installed a Ford...

Too bad they are so strict but at least you have a good solution. And thanks.

    My M998 build log

Excellent picture. Yes I know there are parts in the steering column that are made by Ford. I know some are labeled "Escort" and are used in Ford Escorts. Specifically, #1 is a Common turn signal switch for Ford and it fits Bronco II, Mustang, Tempo, Topaz, Aerostar, ESCORT and Many more...

    My M998 build log

You might be able to modify it and force it to fit but it is not a bolt in. They are not even close to the same, at least not the ones I can find. Please get a Ford part number, I would love to see how it mounts. Here is a Ford Escort steering column. And here's the H1

    My M998 build log

If you already have it on the way and it solves the immediate issue, sounds great. It will not connect to the military wiring harness directly. When you switch out the column what are you going to do for directionals? I am not familiar enough with the H1 but It isn't likely to be plug and...

You mentioned that in my build thread a long time ago and I looked, they are not the same and not even close.

    Versions of HMMWV Tachometers

You can ground the case since the light negative connects to the negative terminal and then also contacts the case. In other words, it won't hurt anything to try but I don't think that will make a difference. Sent you a PM too.

    Versions of HMMWV Tachometers

You are not missing anything. I have the same tach and sending unit and it is hooked up the same way (basically) and it works great. I assume you have tried spinning it in both directions?

    Anti-theft measures?

oops. LOL. I know it isn't intended for a end all solution. However consider going to a steel closed end rivet from the bottom. It would look and be a lot more difficult to get through.

    Anti-theft measures?

I wasn't picking on your post, just the item. I completely understand what you posted. Thanks, sorry for any confusion. On my truck I am working on rear steering and figure when I park it I can just turn the rear wheels and that will defeat anyone who thinks they can steal it.
