    Uploading pics problem

I ran into this the other night. It would only let me do one at a time. Any more than that and it would show it was uploading them, get to 100% and then the upload window would close and there would be no images on the screen. Uploaded 5 or 6 pics this morning without issue.

    Looking at a '53 M108 Gasser

I'd just like to add that my numbers are based on the "crawling under a lot" system. A major restoration I'd estimate $20-$30K for. And my definition of "major restoration" is this: You're certainly welcome to pass along the assessments from this thread to the owner. My experience in the...

    Looking at a '53 M108 Gasser

:) Ok, so here's how I get there: I don't know when M108 production stopped, somewhere in the 1950's. So let's call it 1955 for conversations sake. It's 2015 now, so this is a 60 year old truck. The OP stated it hasn't run in at least 8 years and that it obviously has a lot of deferred...

    Looking at a '53 M108 Gasser

There's nothing on that truck that would scare me off, but I'm also smart enough to see $5-10K in work to get it up to snuff and that doesn't include restoration/cosmetic stuff. It's pretty solid and complete for it's age-still has the waterproof plug wires. Interesting it got the air horn...

    Start-up-Shut-down procedures?

Both turbos require the same treatment. One truck is just missing or never had the dataplate installed.

    Starting CCKW Rebuild......Finally

Man, I'd really like to have a closed cab CCKW. Really like those things.

    Statistics on Deuce ownership

Not really. Probably in the bowels of the Pentagon (or in the bowels of one of their servers) exists the info about how many M44 series trucks were surplussed, how many were written off for internal use (i.e. target practice), etc. But none of us will ever see this info. Again, they know but...

    My newest turd: Jeepsinker's M49A2

Now, in all honesty, this is a terrible example because there's no way of knowing if some civilian did this. I know I've seen upward paperclips on USMC trucks that were still in the service but I can't find the pictures right now.

    My newest turd: Jeepsinker's M49A2

That's a cool truck: I can't remember the last time I saw a multifuel that still had the 25A generator and external voltage regulator. Of the 35-40 deuces we've had, not a single one was still generator equipped. Other stuff: There are M44 fenders and there are M44A1/M44A2 fenders. This is...

    M108 deuce wrecker engine swap

    A. Now is the time to rebuild the steering box. They always need rebuilding and it's easy breezy with the engine out. B. Now is the time, with the engine out, to do all the miserable stuff like going through the injection pump to replace the hydraulic head o-rings and reseal the booster pump...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

I have used the speedometer shop that's there in Roswell, but I can't remember the name of the place. I think it's these guys: http://www.hampspeedometer.com/ Any speedo shop that can rebuild old school mechanical speedos should be able to build you an adapter if the military one proves to be...

    1953 M38A1 has no power

The M38A1 wiring harness is very similar to the M38. You need to get your 24V test light or multimeter and follow the electricity. Start at the 2nd battery, where the positive cable runs to the starter and simply work your way down the line. Is there 24V at the terminal? If so, go to the...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

I bought mine on eBay for about $50 shipped. I don't see any available now. My next try would be White Owl in North Carolina. I've checked my speedo against a GPS speedo app and it's within a mile an hour of accurate with my G177s.

Official '15 Ga. Rally Multimedia thread

I've always put my images on Photobucket-I have dozens of albums and something like 10,000 images hosted there. It's free (I think I have a grandfathered account or something because I have another photobucket account for one of my businesses and it's severely restricted in terms of...

24 volt and 12 volt system

With one big exception.............. trailer brake controllers. I think the best choice for our vehicles is every accessory 24V: my worklights, back up lights, rear winch, etc. are all 24V. That way you can feed off the factory battery bank and alternator. And stuff like cell phone/GPS...

    Warn industrial 18 series winch

Those 18K lb winches are pretty big..... I just put one on the rear of my M35A2C for self recovery and pulling dead vehicles onto trailers. I'm not sure how you'd get it on a HMMWV and make it look normal.

    GA. registration by weight

I am really sorry you had to go through all that. So here in my county, there are 3 or 4 attendants at the tag office and I always try to deal with one. She's the most helpful. At the other end of the spectrum, there's the moron who titled this truck. When I took her the SF97 and the County...

    1957 Utica Bend Restoration

No. The current harness on the Jeep is homemade and horrendous. It has wire nuts, I kid you not. The following picture is how the taillight harness was pigtailed with the trailer connector: Yes, that is two male bullet connectors wired together and left bare under the vehicle. So I didn't...

    1957 Utica Bend Restoration

I would definitely do the two taillights. It's a no brainer. You can build a jumper harness to feed the additional taillight or a standalone harness to power it. I did the passenger side tail/brake light on my GPW. Like you said, we're all slow moving vehicles on modern fast moving roadways...

    1957 Utica Bend Restoration

That is really nice Maccus. I just cn't get over how good the sheetmetal is. So unmolested-the mirrors are even the )completely worthless) early ones. I can't wait to see it done. Here are some various M44 gasser pictures I've collected from the internet. Wonder where all of them have gone?
