    Valence's 1990 Turtle Mountain M116A2 Power Plant AN/MJQ-33

I noticed a fuel leak on the rear generator. It took me a while to get around to identifying and fixing the issue. It slowly leaked even while the generator was off. Running the generator made it easier to identify the source, then it was obvious to me how deteriorated the hose was. It was...

    Valence's M116A3 Mounted MEP-803A (10kw generator)

That's a good point. I don't *have* to have the little vinyl cover with the draw strings there. Thanks! Edit: What was the previous purpose other than for the electrical power cord to pass through?

    Valence's M116A3 Mounted MEP-803A (10kw generator)

I had hoped I could store the short "always connected" plug inside the acoustic housing but unfortunately these massive twist lock plugs are just a little too big. However, the cord section is long enough I think I can just put the plug under the generator skid and that'll protect it from most...

    Valence's M116A3 Mounted MEP-803A (10kw generator)

I've built my own custom power connection cable for this generator. I'm sure it would have been cheaper to buy a pre-made cable (such as for an RV), but this way I was able to make it the way I wanted, such as I wanted to leave a short section always wired in place so I didn't have look up the...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

Sadly, I didn't really do anything with Mr. Pioneer Tool Trailer here. Priorities changed drastically in the last 3+ years with large property improvements and diversions of money to other goals. Then this winter I acquired too many trailers. I don’t want to be that guy to let a project rot...

Utah Introduces Bill to Allow Exemption for Display of License Plates on Military Vehicles

Alright!! Do you know when it goes into affect, or can I remove my license plates right now?

    Valence's 1997 Pribbs M101A3

I ended up replacing both handles because I didn't trust how rusty the left handle was too. I also had a case of this old G-366 (MIL-G-25537A) G0B Aircraft grease. I'm not sure how well it'll stand up to the elements, but it's lasted for nearly 56 years in the can, I think it'll do fine until...

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

I took this one step further. When running my home from my generator, my generator is some distance from the house. So I wanted to double check the voltage and frequency that the generator was producing, before energizing my circuits, as well as monitor amperage load on each leg. The Emporia...

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

I really appreciated the discussion and what I've been able to learn from everyone here! Thanks! I have embarked upon information gathering spree since I had no real knowledge of what my usage was, beyond my monthly electric bill. I have kept my city utility bills since I bought my home over a...

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

Do you have any knowledge if the the military generators are built differently somehow? The way you've explained the theory, it makes it seem like there is no downside to an "unbalanced" load - neither fuel wastage nor damage to the generator (and there are a number of folks/threads that...

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

Thank you. Also, I didn't know the 831 was capable of split 240v. I see them from time to time. Good to know! Ahhhhh, that makes perfect sense about the wasted energy part. What constitutes as "heavily loaded"? 10A? 15.99? My generator is a ways from my house. I'm going to add a display meter...

How close do you have to "balance" the load on MEP generators in 240v mode?

USA homes run 120/240v split, single phase (I believe that's the correct terminology). I have read multiple posts of very good information from @Isaac-1 about the MEP-701A/016B generator (the first military generators I've owned): Examples...

    M35A2 - Full Arctic Kit

I just bought a fuel fired arctic kit - well, it's most of the parts of a kit. Missing things such as the in-cab fuel fired heater, fuel lines, and most especially, the instructions. I'd love to get installing this kit. I'd be *very* appreciative if you could digitize your instructions! I'd...

I hadn't considered greasing/lubricating them in any way, but that's good and obvious advice. Thank you.

    Valence's M116A3 Mounted MEP-803A (10kw generator)

Each corner of the body of this A3 has 4 holes that perfectly match adding a pair of the standard military jerry can mounts like so (and I've seen photos of other M116A3 trailers with 4 pairs of cans like this): I don't quite have enough mounts in my possession for that, but not like...

Yeah! Thanks guys and very much thanks to you @Tinstar for that thread too. It was that very thread that I pulled the NSN from and searched eBay.

    Valence's 1997 Pribbs M101A3

I found an NOS park brake handle on eBay that came with the mounting hardware too. NSN 5340-00-936-5284 P/N 10926073 Stamped on the side of the lever base is "MFR 081X2". It appears to be the same thing, with just a slightly different handle top. I'll report back on how well it fits in reality.
