If you have "common sense" then you must take responsibility for your own actions. Can't have that in our "modern" society can we ! I need someone to blame for my stupid mistakes and wrong decisions .
At least that is what the "political elite" are telling me.
I"m sorry I went political here...
I went to a "silicone" hose for the top years ago for that very reason. Silicone hoses are much more flexible then normal rubber hoses. Good idea on the shroud too. That should increase the strength of the core considerably.
That's good to hear !
If the nut jobs who want military vehicles off the road win in Canada, you know for a fact they will try here in the States too.
Keep up the good work !!!
SemperFi !
Hey guys.
Is there going to be any get togethers this summer ? For the first time in years it looks like I might be able to attend something this year.
Yes Ahab I'm back. If your referring to my two year "sabbatical" that's a long story. If your referring to my three weeks off, that had to do with me hitting the Hughes Net satellite dish with my tractor !
They couldn't come out and fix it for three weeks !!!
No internet for three weeks is a...
I'm pretty sure it was the 6.9 though the last time I saw him was three years ago. It had to do with the characteristics of both turbos. Both are very similar in ramp-up speed and lag and total output. Also they are much cheaper and much more plentiful then a original Deuce turbo. If someone...
I would go up to 1-1/2 " sockets and wrenches. Then a good set of screwdrivers and pliers. If you buy from Harbor Freight go with their "ICON" brand for wrenches and sockets.
For decades I only bought "Snap-On Tools" . Then about a decade before retiring I started buying other cheaper brands...
Before I totally derail this thread, all I can say is this country needs to turn around soon ! We are going to tax ourselves right out of our nation. No one will be able to afford a home here !
Now getting back to the topic, I use "Coker Tires" a lot for things like tubes and flaps. There's a...
Hey "m1010plowboy" how are you being effected by the new laws being passed up there in Canada regarding military vehicles and insurance driving on public roads ?
That V10 engine develops more power then the Spicer 3053 can handle. You will tear up your transmission and clutch every time you "get on it" . If your determined to use this engine, then use the whole package. Engine, transmission and transfer case. You can always beef-up the transmission and...
Well the last time I had a "Whistler Turbo's" vanes welded up, I talked about that very thing. The shop Forman mentioned using a Ford turbo from a 6.9 engine. He said it had very similar numbers comparable to the MultiFuels turbo.
You can go and buy a "PTO pull cable" that you can mount to the dash. They have nice red handles and come in almost any length you need. Most truck parts suppliers will have them. I believe NAPA also sells them.
Drop your pan and check the rods soon ! They came out with an improved rod bolt (twelve point) since the original ones had a tendency to stretch too much. Hopefully if it is the rod bolts, you have caught it before you did any damage to the crank or rod or bearings.
It is extremely difficult to...
That's a great price !
I'm in the same situation here with my new shop. Just finishing up with all the interior stuff before I bring in shelves and benches. Now the county is taxing us $1200.00 a month !
I can't go somewhere else and start over again. I'm too old now. My best friend wants to...
That is a very true statement about the MultiFuel engine, and a good reason to leave the Turbo alone. When I was talking with that tractor pull guy a few years ago who made 5,000 HP out of a MultiFuel engine (actually he started with a MultiFuel and ended up with his own engine) he said he...
