    M60 repair

I loved your eyes dude! Although I LOVE to work on things, I am hoping I do not have to climb in and out, up and down in THAT vehicle for a bit. It wore me out. The thrill for me is to bring things back to life/running order, using my pea brain instead of the BS troubleshooting that Cummins made...

Idle steadily increases for no reason. (Vid)

A restricted return can cause idle to creep, but, usually it will not go down. Most likely has throttle leakage too low. Does the engine have a block warmer? If so, plug it in and see if the idle does the same thing if it is warm.

    M60 repair

578 and M62/548 are at the Museum, 578 just needs a look over, it runs and ASFIK, works, never excersized the crane, cables look good. M62 is stuck, tried moving it to get the M60 out, but there are brake issues, this one needs a re spool. Both will not walk the pack, they need to pull and...

    Changing our air compressor

Cummins actually offers a 30 cfm unit, ST676 Holset compressor. When installed, the engine will need different fuel lines from the pump to the heads and return lines as well as the coolant plumbing and discharge plumbing, that goes from 1/2 inch to a #16 hose, any smaller and it restricts the...

And you can add brakes to an auto trans equipped truck too. you just need a switch in a lock up port.

I know the business end has "RESERVE THIS" stenciled on it. It is pretty crusty, so, it probably was at Pendleton. I will look next week or tomorrow if I go down there. AFAK, no insg on it, was carced in 89

    M60 repair

Here is how the power gets out to the tracks. Out the trans thru the wing bearings and this coupler sends it to the final drives. It really isn't that big, the wing bearings are though!

    M60 repair

No,M578 and M543, but had to use another truck to remove it. The 578 will most likely put it back in. I need to look at things on that. And, the line that pulled out is fire suppression for the valley of the engine.

    M60 repair

No, too heavy to retract outriggers and move it, so, it and the tank are centered in the inside lane and roped off. It will be a chore to re install with a fixed boom, so we are looking for a rotator OR get the wrecker running, re spool and use that. I'll find out more tomorrow. I have a few...
