RE: Starting an LDS 465-1A engine after sitting 3 years
Welcome to the site, nice to have yet another northeast member. Any chance you have some pics of your truck....we like pics ;-)
Are you gettting that dreaded loud click letting you know its energised but not rotating, or is the starter rotating normally but not physically engaging the flywheel?? If its the latter i bet the bendix is just gummed up, pull the starter, clean it out and toss a little bit of lube on the...
Well guys, its now a definate. I won't be able to make it. General lack of time that weekend combined with the truck not even being road legal yet ( over a month now since i got the insurance done and sent the paperwork for plates) Sorry guys, take lots of pics. :-( :-( :-(
RE: Bigger Than I thought it would be!
thanks man, nice lookin hoe you got there. I'm sure it is coming in handy in ways you never though possible, i know mine does.
RE: Pick Up the Dolly
nice looking dolly:-), by the way.......looks like you did indeed settle on the backhoe to purchase. I remember you asking about them a while back. How bout some tractor pics for us tractor buffs??
I do hate to rain on the parade but he can't do that test to see if the lift pump is shot, mostly because the truck won't start, hence the thread titled
But i do agree, sounds like the IP is in need of some attention.
I don't know, why do you??? I must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Nice truck, and best of luck with it. Do as you like afterall it is YOUR truck now.
Being a fairly new guy around here i try to only make definitive statements when I'm really, really sure I'm correct about something. That said, everybody that has chimed in thus far has an immeasurable lead on you as far as deuce knowledge goes. I might recommend toning down the superior...
well, darn man it looks pretty nice. Think you really lucked out on that one. Looks like she might even be a runner right off the lot. Just gonna need a towbar from somewhere in order to haul that badboy home :driver:
The thing i see pop up the most here is issues with getting it started initially due to air getting into the fuel system while it sat at GL. Other than that i'm not much help with 5 tons, best of luck on the recovery get us lots of pics.
:ditto: Thats why the rule is in place, that would be considered bid collusion. What you do in private conversations is your own business( email, PM, phone call...) but on an open public forum that can get you in really deep doo doo. Not that they can't come after you if you are discussing...
grab the nearest guy with a deuce and a towbar and go fetch. If my truck were all legal, and it should be ASAP and you could borrow a towbar i would be there. Believe me i know all too well the Mass way of taking care of its residents, why do you think mine is being reg in maine and insured as such
Oh its a runner, just the lack of the legal bull, all insured just waiting on the maine plates to show up. Not open season for deer in MA yet, i know you guys just opened for archery if ii remember right. Not that i would be opposed to dropping a really stupid one and grilling him up for the get...
