The more pics i see the more i like thar truck. Getting a nice early start on your workshop i see. Thats a super tractor you have there. Just the right size , small enough to use around the house but large enough to get a lot done when you need to.
Been waiting for an opportunity to
nopics
someone. Well it's not being scrapped so how bout some pics so those of us who missed the thread in the beginning know what your drooling over. :D
Uh yea...thats one stuck dozer  Looks kinda small though, what model would that be?? Super looking 5 ton and great work on putting out the fires.
Maybe I'm a bit odd but i like it. It's still a lot better lookin than a lot of vehicals on the road and just think of all the cargo space if you manage to find and customize or build a bed. I'm sure that detroit SCREAMS :D
Could be a CV joint going. They tend to make odd noises at low speeds while turning if they are on the way out. The loud clunking while turning also points to CV. Not sure how bad they are to change on a 1009 but i had to do my saab last year at about this time. Perhaps it was the cold or the...
Don't scap it. Even if no one here wants it i'm sure you could get a few 100 on ebay with that engine. I am rebuilding a VH4D (yours certainly looks like one but could be a VG4D) and have been watching ebay a lot for the past few months trying to find various parts as factory replacements are...
Hmmm maybe they saw this guys craigslist ad and think all Deuces should "go for over $16,000 at goverment auction" His price...9900. Just read about halfway down the listing.

Thats quite the vibe, be sure to check on that before something lets loose on ya. On the upside you can really save some time and make a lovely banana milkshake during the A.M. commute. Just plop in a cupholder and GO
Hmmmm, everytime you accelerate or maintain 55-60. If it's not directly linked to a specific engine rpm i would be suspicious of perhaps a u joint starting to go. Give em a wiggle only takes a sec. Could be wrong, has been known to happen :D
Well that could definately cause some alignment issues.....i wouldn't doubt that if you toss a new bolt in your starting woes will dissapear. Or at least the engine will spin over again, as for the initial hard starting, i can't be of much help.
While i know almost nothing about the CUCV i do know a thing or 2 about starters and it sounds like yours dosen't feel like engaging the flywheel. Most likely just plain gummed up but you will need to pull it and see. While it's out of the truck and you give it some juice via a jumper cable the...
I have got to say as a new guy around here that this place is simply amazing. I'm behind whatever it takes to keep it up and running. I still don't have an MV yet and sure getting one cheap would be nice. I'm rather doutful that the ad here will do much to the prices, seems everyone has already...
I love E-bay, i'm picky in what i bid on and get great stuff cheap everytime cause if it gets even remotely pricy i just let it go. Lets see...My current daily driver (93 saab 900s) 560$ 2 years ago, i've got appx 18 K miles on it and still no issues. It being a saab i can sit in my comfy...
I'm sure the dealer could get him one but it would most likely cost 3X as much as another source. Had to get a few parts for my old JD backhoe and  although i couldn't find them at any price at any other supplier.
