RE: Re: Cummins into deuce
I'll just toss in two thoughts on installing the B5.9 series engine... Swap out the 12 volt alternator and starter for 24 volt versions (not really that expensive to do, and you can trade in the existing ones or sell them on Ebay to help offset the cost), and...
Hmm, sounds like an idea... going over the APG is something that I keep missing as well (did it last year on Sunday after everything had closed, so only got to see the outdoor exhibits..). We'd make a splash taking the Convoy over... :)
I broke a high pressure line on my M35A2C last year when driving down to Monroe, NC to pick up some parts... Truck was missing a couple of the anti-vibration clamps and one of the lines (to number five cylinder) cut lose right at the tip in the hydrualic head. First I knew about it was that...
If I get out of the yard this weekend, it'll be to the Spencer NC ATHS/NCMVPA show... I've got a bunch of stuff to catch up on at the house, would be driving my M37 and feel that I've got to support the local group (especially since they changed the date of the show so that it wouldn't...
Russell E. Blackburn Jr. over in the Triad area of North Carolina not only has a Goat, but he has a great website with a lot of info on these vehicles. Site is located at: http://www.gamagoat.com/
I'm impressed by John's truck's performance during the ECC last week, and thought that it was...
RE: Re: RE: Gimpy made it!
You know, if somebody had told me that you were the guy getting the clamps, I wouldn't have sold them ten minutes before you walked up and asked for them.... :(
I'm already on the horn getting replacement set for you (new in the box, not new sliding around on the...
Re: Convoy Commander wardrobe?
After cooking that hog for everyone (and going through all that discussion with the event organizers...), I figured that I could pull out the shirts that my brother scored at Pearl when he was visiting last year (my sister-in-law's brother flys rescue copters for...
Great news!!
Hate to hear that you had to tow the new toy out the yard...but not too surprised to be honest. AMGeneral and I will just have to run up in his M816 with a load of stuff and do a little work on it before we get her on the road to NC. I owe you...
Gilbert, I'm in assuming that I can get off work. Soon as you canfirm up a date, let us know so I can get it on the schedule. Sounds like a blast....
The folks have got a place in Southern Shores in case we end up needing a second spot although it is approx twenty miles south of the place...
Kenny,
Chuck and I went over to Hollywood, MD on the way home Sunday to pick up a hard top for my XM708 that a buddy had stashed at his place for me. His son graduated from VPI on Saturday, so he couldn't make it to the show (engineering graduate...).
The detour added a couple hours to the...
Yep, was wondering whose the guys borrowed. Found it in the toolbox today when I was unloading the truck.
Shoot me your address and I'll get it back to you ASAP.
I just want to think Kenny for keeping in touch with everyone on thier way up to Aberdeen during the ECC. It was really a relief for me to pull into Doswell on Wednesday night and have my phone ring with Kenny and the Convoy Report.
I told him that next year (2008 ECC) that we are all...
WOW, thanks for posting all the photos... I took my camera, but never managed to get it out of the bag. Spent too much time talking to even get around to walking all the vendor locations, much less think about photos...
Great shots.
Got in to Raleigh at 7:30PM ish yesterday (5/13) after having made a short detour to Hollywood, MD on the way back to pick up some M37 parts that a buddy had stashed for me. Both the '83 M35A2C that my buddy Chuck was driving and my '53 Cummins M37 made the trip home without any problems...
I use it on everything myself (scuffed existing paint, clean blasted metal, slightly rusted metal, etc.). Cut it 3:1 with Zylene or Naptha (depending on temperature) when spraying with my gun, you made need to tweak the ration for your sprayer. Has worked very well under Gillespie on my rigs....
Hmmm, my truck made it up and back last year with a slight weep (don't recommend it), had the radiator out and replaced the following week (after having a local shop rework it)... I'll cross my fingers for you Nick...
Congratulations on your daughter's graduation. :)
RE: Thank you
Do I need to through my bucket of USMC canvas preservative/waterproofer in the truck??? Made a huge difference in my M35's top's ability to shed water (wish that I had used it before Aberdeen last year...).
RE: Needle Gun efforts
Looking good, and stout there David. I'm drooling...
Hate to hear that you won't be getting her to Aberdeen, but maybee that will be a good excuse to get together later on (before you head to Korea...)...
Best wishes.
RE: Thank you
Thanks for the post about the bridge... Good thing is that we have a bit of "float" in the route schedule just for this sort of thing...
Looking forward to seeing everyone and will have fingers crossed for a smooth trip for everyone.
Gimpy, I've got to call you...
Was talking to AMGeneral about perhaps making the run from Aberdeen to Columbus to pick up the truck that Monday if we can both swing the extra day off work. We've both got the vacation time on the books, but getting to use it might be another matter....
I know...
