    Cranetruck needs some help

Yeah, I got the hydraulic head back this morning... I've had a day, so I haven't gotten around to calling UPS to ask "what in the world...". Keep in mind that they promissed that I would get a call in the AM to update me on status when the folks who investigate lost packages got in to work...

So, do I get to see it (and photograph it) when I come up for the show that we are having in western NC?? How is the wrecker comming along? (I know what it's like to be wrenching on more than one truck at once...)

    Cranetruck needs some help

It's good to hear that Bjorn is moving along again... And to see everyone pulling together to keep him rolling. Who's along the route to his next scheduled stop?

    Cranetruck needs some help

This may be more appropriate for a whole new thread, but since it concerns the lost hydraulic head... I finally managed on Saturday to talk to a person high enough up the management chain at UPS to get them to admit that the folks who actually investigate this kind of fault don't work on...

    Cranetruck needs some help

5:44 Eastern... UPS says "We are conducting a trace and we will let you know if we find it. We are sorry for the inconvience." Some days it works, some days it doesn't...

    XM 708 M37 DUMPTRUCK

RE: hi jeff Makes me feel better when I think of the three trucks sitting in a line in the backyard waiting for me to finish the house renovations... I really would rather work on a truck than a house...

    Cranetruck needs some help

No, nothing wrong with the packaging... Brand new head in its box (never been on a truck), packed inside another box with a two inch buffer between the box surfaces filled with shredded paper.. Both UPS's big label and two large Avery lables on it clearly marked to and from). Done this...

    Cranetruck needs some help

I actually just spent a little over an hour at the local UPS hub (big one at the airport) raising hell... They admit that it got picked up at my office, but after that, they have no clue... The trace from our end will take one to eight days... Of course, they offered to refund my shipping...

    Cranetruck needs some help

I also called and left a voicemail on Bjorn's phone, but have not heard from him... Of course, none of my messages over the last couple of days seem to have gone through, so I wonder if his phone is actually in a service area... Hope that the part is not lost in the UPS system..

    How does krylon OD compare....?

Don't know about Krylon, but I do know that RustOleum is the same chemistry as Gillespie. I use RustOleum Rusty Metal Primer (the red version) under the Gillespie that I use to paint most everything in the yard. I did, however, paint a pair of M101 trailers with a "homebrew" OD using a...

    M35 brake problems

I got one for GSA once that had inop. brakes... Turns out that somebody had carefully removed the air activated stop light switch (the newer upgrade one that was installed on some trucks in place of the hydraulically activated switch) and every time that you hit the brake pedal, air just blew...

    Troubleshooting M101A1 lights

Check the grounds out (including the one on the towing vehicle (if your harness is like the ones on the M37, M38, M35's that have a short gournd line included) making sure to check that both mounting bolts on any given light assembly are grounding... The wiring will hold up to the current...

    Cranetruck needs some help

Will have it (brand new head) overnighted this afternoon... It's 2.18PM in Raleigh. I just overnighted by UPS. Should be at your location by 10:30AM your time. Called and left a message on your cell with the tracking number. (since I don't think anyone would mind, and so everyone can...

    Photo

Saw this shot while searching for some other stuff and noticed the truck... No info on it, but it looks like it's been modified a bit and that it is working (got a load for sure). Enjoy... http://www.dirtbike.ws/node/4994

    Injector line woes...

Good point. Mine are all installed... I've only had this truck for four or five years now and I have no idea of its prior history except that it spent time at Myrtle Beach, SC (it is a USAF truck) before the base was closed...

    Cranetruck needs some help

I have a line on a complete IP that I was going to snag for another buddy of mine, but if Bjorn needs it, I'll snag it and send it out to him... It is mounted on a M36 that I was "borrowing" parts from last Saturday (when I had my leak due to the broken line to cylinder #6). Hate to hear that...

    XM 708 M37 DUMPTRUCK

They do look just like the photos you sent me to post on my website... I haven't done anything to mine yet except rework the wheel bearings to that I could roll it around the yard and to look at it a lot... I'll get around to the resto next summer... The NEW section of my website that has...

    M101 for sale

I've had four folks tell me that they want this trailer, then something comes up and the deal falls through... It is still in my yard, and is still for sale...

    Injector line woes...

The line was not rusted, nor was the big nut frozen to the line... The flair fitting was stuck to the line itself and the piece that broke off did so right accross the bottom of the fitting... I agree about metal fatique and do wonder if the nut was stuck when somebody else turned a wrench on...

    Injector line woes...

Just wondering... I had to replace the IP to #6 cylinder high pressure line last Saturday during a 500 mile roundtrip excursion in my '83 M35A2C. Was almost at my destination (ten miles out) when I lost power and the engine started making a woofing noise. When I pulled over and checked I had...
