Yeah, I got the hydraulic head back this morning... I've had a day, so I haven't gotten around to calling UPS to ask "what in the world...". Keep in mind that they promissed that I would get a call in the AM to update me on status when the folks who investigate lost packages got in to work...

So, do I get to see it (and photograph it) when I come up for the show that we are having in western NC?? How is the wrecker comming along? (I know what it's like to be wrenching on more than one truck at once...)

It's good to hear that Bjorn is moving along again... And to see everyone pulling together to keep him rolling. Who's along the route to his next scheduled stop?

This may be more appropriate for a whole new thread, but since it concerns the lost hydraulic head... I finally managed on Saturday to talk to a person high enough up the management chain at UPS to get them to admit that the folks who actually investigate this kind of fault don't work on...

I actually just spent a little over an hour at the local UPS hub (big one at the airport) raising hell... They admit that it got picked up at my office, but after that, they have no clue... The trace from our end will take one to eight days... Of course, they offered to refund my shipping...

Good point. Mine are all installed... I've only had this truck for four or five years now and I have no idea of its prior history except that it spent time at Myrtle Beach, SC (it is a USAF truck) before the base was closed...

The line was not rusted, nor was the big nut frozen to the line... The flair fitting was stuck to the line itself and the piece that broke off did so right accross the bottom of the fitting... I agree about metal fatique and do wonder if the nut was stuck when somebody else turned a wrench on...
