    XM757 8x8

I've got a few more photos of this truck on my website taken during the 2004 East Coast Rally at Ripken Stadium (Aberdeen)... Including some of the truck with the sides extended showing the interior and exterior... Take a gander at photos 73-78 on the convoy/rally photo page located at...

    No turn or stop lights

Yes, the brake lights do run through the turn signal switch on the steering column. I've found that the contacts in them tend to get corroded so you need to check it next/as well... Good luck.

Dont let this happen to you.(hoses)

I had to replace mine a couple months ago after the belts cut loose and took out the upper radiator hose. While I was at it, I redid the ones on the upper manifolds as they looked abotu as bad as the hose piece that you have pictured... Upper two little ones are somethign like 1.75" ID, the...

Opinions on value of this bobbed Deuce

RE: Opinions on value of this bobbed duece I can't say if it is worth that much in the sense that YOU have to figure out if having a vehicle like that is worth that to YOU... I can say that I have seen this truck in person (in action offroad on some real nasty trails in the Uwharrie National...

    Aberdeen 2007

Well, Graham started the Yellow Serial for us this year in Marietta, GA, and claims that he will be participating in 2007. That means that those of you running up I85 will be able to start your march unit early and then join up with the Yellow Serial participants from Western NC around...

ANYBODY HAVE THE SAME EXP. WITH INSPECTIONS?

Re: RE: ANYBODY HAVE THE SAME EXP. WITH INSPECTIONS? Since the truck is over 10,000 lbs, you fall under the federal inspection (FHWA Periodic) so you get to do it yourself. Most folks think that you have to have the sticker on the truck, but in actuality, the federal regulations state that...

ANYBODY HAVE THE SAME EXP. WITH INSPECTIONS?

In North Carolina, you do not have to have a safety inspection if your vehicle is an antique (by age, not by type of registration), so nothing over 25 years needs to be inspected. However, vehicles over 10k lbs fall under the FMVCSA rules, so you should have a duece inspected, or not...

    different color

I have some real, military, International Orange (not the tracktor company, but the Federal Standard name) paint in the shed. Not sure what I'll put it on (may just sell it to someboy who needs it so here we go...). A lot of stuff gets color coded depending on use and location, including...

    Local Forums?

Don't split it up. I also use the "most recent" view for 90% of my posts. Only when I am looking for something specific or am starting something new do I actually go to the listing of different forum areas. I also like to see what folks are doing in different areas, especially since you...

    Where's Cranetruck?

Actually, it is sitting on the M1016 trailer next to your whiffletree... I had to move some stuff around the yard last weekend and was too lazy to go around the house to get mine...

    Aberdeen 2007

Looking forward to having you next door again... Missed you last year. I promiss to not use the phrase "don't worry, we have a wrecker" when talking to East Coast Convoy Participants... :) I'll be dragging up my M274A5 for parts running duties as well... Not sure what else I'll be driving...

24 Volt Solargizers, $15.00 each, Almost new!

I just got an email from Karen yesterday inquiring if I still wanted my order since they had not yet recieved payment. My response was that they had not told me what the total was... Somewhere along the line, the email from her to me with the total had gotten lost, so I know that she is...

    Field Stoves

I have seen repair parts for the M2 burner assemblies up for action from GL in the last couple of years, but no M2 burners... The MBU is a wonderful unit, (diesel, fire it up while in the stove, etc...) but I have only seen a few come up for sale on Ebay and they have been very high priced...

    Aberdeen 2007

Re: RE: Aberdeen 2007 Which is why my group hangs out in the same spot every year (that and the fact that we have one guy who needs the extra width afforded by having the end spot -pays extra). Of course, we also like being on the back row...

    Field Stoves

I don't see any burner units in the photos (not that you can see the bottom that well considering the angles and lighting...). Every GL sale of these that I have looked at in the last year did not include the burner units. I think somebody got concerned that we would all blow ourselves up...

    Aberdeen 2007

I will be reserving my usual spaces over on the back row (can't remember the space numbers, but I was as close to the trees as I could get) not far from the vehicle display area... I have this deal with a bunch of NCMVPA/East Coast Convoy Yellow Serial (Southern) buddies where we all hang out...

    Field Stoves

You can't tell if they are complete unless you open them up and look. the M1959 basic unit is just a big box (what you can see) that opens up on the front to reveal a nested 20 and 15 gallon stock pots (with lids). Top flips up to reveal a square pan about five inches deep used for deep...
