So, you need help moving those two trucks from Fayetteville??? When???
Long way to tow them flat from Fayetteville to Chesapeake, but it can be done... I've got two towbars, only one with the correct ends (one of them actually is Kenny's, but he has not picked it up yet...).
Email me if you...
I actually bid on it... High bid (somebody else's) was for $5015... Fire department that had it said that it ran and worked just fine, but that they didn't want it anymore due to the high fuel consumption... They also had a five ton road tractor that went for about the same money, same...
Did not have mine recored... I did have the top inlet and top right mount reattached. Also had it tanked and repainted.. Ran $90 including tax here in Raleigh, NC two weeks ago...
Well, once upon a time it was a USMC truck, or at least the front bumper was... Somebody has cut the "paperclips" off flush with the top edge of the bumper... A shame...
Yup, I could do just like they did with the WC series of Dodges down at the Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation during WWII... I've got to block the view of the new neighbor's house someway... :)

Drain it, undo the two nuts at the bottom holding it to the frame bracket, undo the ground strap at the bottom, loosen the hose clamps for the upper and lower hoses, undo the two bolts holding it to the upper mount (the angle iron piece that runs side to side with the attachement in the middle...
So, I'll byte... Before I can give you my opinion as to what 2.5 ton truck you should be looking for, I need to know how you plan to use it... Tanker, Pumper, etc..
An example of things to consider for that matter: the question of if you want to look for air shift or sprague for the front...
RE: M816 5 Ton medium wrecker
I amost bid on a M62 wrecker this past weekend that was in FD service and was very complete.... Just a tad too much and a tad too far... Got to say that I was truly impressed by the performance of that M816 on the convoy... I think we ended up with it getting...
RE: Radio
I'd like to have one of those mounts as well if you've got more than one... Do you get any interference between the antenna and a West Coast mirror setup?
Most of the mounts that I am used to are fitted to the bed or the front of the passenger fender, but I've got a dropside bed...
There is. I'm counting it in my guestimate of how many are around... ;) I understand that the one on display is missing the hydroboost for the brakes (the XM708 is the only truck in the M37 familly that got boosted brakes from the factory).
I've got some photos of that truck, the original...
There is a fellow near me with a M37 for sale (ran out of steam on his resto) for 1500. Has new brakes, fuel lines, wiring, good engine, etc., but no bed... Might be a good donor for your wrecker...
Thanfully, the dumptruck came with most all of the components (although taken apart in in...
My first thought was that it would make a real screamer of a worktruck with a 4BT in it, and I certainly know how to do the job, and what I'd do differently from the M37, and it does need an engine...
However, they only made 200 of these and after a bit of talking to some other folks who have...
I've started work on some new webpages for my site that will document the XM708 dumptruck that I just purchased. I still have a long way to go with them and the XM, but here is the URL:

(I'd upload a file to this post, but the photos are...
Ha! Sounds similar to mine. Check the upper radiator mount (the little clevis). The one that bolts to the front of the block. I bet it was loose, mine was. These things seem to vibrate so much the only way to keep the radiator together was to actually mount it directly to the engine and its...
So, I finally got around to picking up the radiator this morning... It's been waiting at the shop for a while, but I went to the beach, then to the mountains and it has not been a real high priority... Anyway, it cost me $90 (including tax) to get the neck put back on, the brackets redone...
Small world... I drive through Gordonsville (and have friends there) every time that I go to visit the folks since they live over in Syria (Madison County).
We really should coordinate our trips sometimes as there are some really nice roads and trials to ride in the area...and putting faces...
Graham, if Kenny can't set you up, give me a call... I may have both the speedo stuff and a towbar available... (NOT the towbar that I am saving for Kenny, a different one...)
OK, took at look at the dataplate on my trailer tonight and this is what it has...
5 ton, 4 wheel trailer
NSN 2330-01-226-0709
Engineered Air Systems, Inc. St. Louis, MO
Manufacture's SN TR-100195 (the 195 portion is stamped, the rest is pre-printed making it the 195th trailer perhaps...)...
