It is a well known issue with the trucks. Mil units have specific inspection requirements. I believe the spec allows for no more than .0015 inch of play in the driveshaft hinging inspection. I know at least one local mil unit has their own stricter requirements. The driveline angle does not help...
You threw a driveshaft because something was installed improperly, there was damage like a bent yoke, or just excessive play somewhere in that part of the driveline. This is a common issue in the LMTVs there are tacom warnings on this and very specific procedures in the tm to measure driveline...
Do you have 24v at the fuel solenoid with the dash switch on? Is there fuel in the tank. There is a primer pump on the filter housing over the starter. Make sure there is 24v at the fuel solenoid. Pump primer, jump relay crank and pump more. See if it will run.
OTC 5190A. I know a few mil mechanics they have the same tool in their road kits. Its very easy to bend a yoke hammering on it and any imbalance can cause a driveshaft to fly off when driving. I know 3 people this has happened to and there is a tacom warning about it. All 3 times when the...
You will have to trailer it or pull both driveshafts to have it towed. You will need the otc u joint puller to get the driveshafts out its alot of work.
Told you its a pain. I have plenty of parts. The delay relay is an easy swap. There is a plug in piece inline with the wiper motor that may just be for electrical noise reduction. The column switch is easy to get off but getting the wire and connector out from the dash is another thing. You have...
On the fdecu 3 there is a wired remote inside and then controls outside and you can switch between controls. If I remember the fdecu 3 power wiring was odd the wire color code was not the same as other mil equipment. I had cut the big power plug off to connect to my 10k. It would trip the gen on...
Check all the fluids and jump the solenoid see if it cranks. While you are at it check and see if you have 24v at the fuel solenoid with the power switch.
Dash valve? The lmtv uses over the counter parts. Although they all look the same there are a few different models the tm has the part number and you can search the nsn on parttarget and get all the cross refs.
There is the polarity protective box in between the main panel leads and the batteries. I don't know what protection it offers in event of a large short though. I have seen panels melted and burnt in places. The first gen panel and dash harness are one piece. Not easy to change. The panel is...
