M1078 Hydraulic Controller Box and System Schematics

I don’t do sarcasm, I am a very literal person. I am removing all my mid structure and am replacing all the hydraulic control with a hand pump. I literally need to use it to lower the spare tire one last time then I am done with the valve…

    Removing LMTV suspension compression system

No, it gets fluid internal to the valve block. It shouldn’t be getting any fluid if the 3way selector isn’t switched to that position, so maybe that valve is also leaking internally…

M1078 Hydraulic Controller Box and System Schematics

Sure I am nearly done with mine, just need to lower the spare one last time…

Stuck on the side of the road! Blew a ton of oil out, not sure where from

Crack in the timing case? Are the compressor mount and support bracket bolts tight? Are all those timing case cover bolts tight?

M1078 Hydraulic Controller Box and System Schematics

It should provide for a return path to the reservoirs but there is some steering check valves in there to insure it goes to the right reservoir with the priority insuring the sealed hand pump reservoir is full then if it gets 5psi of back pressure on that path, it opens a check to allow flow up...

    M1078

Measure the voltage at the power dist panel WHILE you are trying to start. You will probably find one that one is falling on its face under load(will pulse along with relays clicking). Check your connections between batteries and PDP, and of course that the batteries are fully charged. A...

    Lmtv CTIS

25 is the vent line. The S port is supply, the other port is the one that runs down to the dump valves and wheels. The PCU has 3 solenoids. One is the control solenoid and is normally open and must close to seal the system before anything else can happen. When the controller is done it...

    M1078 air leak behind grill

It may be dirty and leaking a little supply air, and since the pedal is up, this air passes to the vent port.

    M1078 air leak behind grill

That port has nothing to do with CTIS. That is where the air from the treadle and park/trailer valves vent when you release the park/trailer air to set the park brakes, and when you release/let-off the brake pedal. There is a hose on the treadle that runs into the center dash, that is the...

    Space needed above transfer case?

So several inches of framing or insulation after the air gap, and utilities above that? Doesn’t sound like it will be an issue to me…

    Space needed above transfer case?

I am going to put my bedroom and utility/storage area over the transmission so I can remove bed and floor hatch to access the trans to do a swap if necessary. I don’t think they need much clearance in service. An inch would probably be OK, not sure how hot they get worst case, what is going...

    M1078A1 -10 Technical Manual

Thats weird, that is where I got it from and it should be about 20 pages long…

    ‘Other’ air conditioning options…

Well there are several ways to do this. That particular unit you linked to though is 24” long. The heater/air handler on the LMTV is only 17”, so that unit would not fit Unless you are planning on putting it somewhere else, but then you would not need a unit that does both heat and A/C...

    M1078A1 -10 Technical Manual

To the A1 schematic? Here was referring to here on the SS website… At the top of the SS home page in the schematics section, select “Present Conflict Vehicles”. The A1 schematic is at the bottom of page 1… Here is a link…...

    M1078A1 -10 Technical Manual

In the end having seen both A1 and A1R schematics, the A1 and A1R are not all that different electrically. The biggest visual difference is that they went from the sometimes problematic circuit card type PDP to the off the shelf sealed relay modules. The relays contained within are basically...

M1078 Hydraulic Controller Box and System Schematics

And of course the tie breaker for the decision as to which valve has the issue would be to select cab suspension and see if you can move those cylinders. each suspension cylinder has 2 locking pins that must be removed before you can extend them. There were to keep them from leaking down and...

M1078 Hydraulic Controller Box and System Schematics

Chapter 19, which you will find in the 20-4 manual. 19-4 manifold valve replace, has complete exploded views and disassembly instructions for all the valve assemblies…

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

Yes, you could, but I would want a longer lever as my tire needs like 2200PSI during lift. I think my cab went just over 1400PSI. 50% increase in pressure = 50% increase in force required, or closing in on 60# at the end of that lever. A longer lever would make this maneagable. You could also...

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

Yes, it is. When I land the pump in it’s final location, I may make the lever just a hair longer with a T handle which will reduce the force slightly and make it a little more ergonomic to operate.
