When I swapped mine out I remember that part looking wrong...just flip the switch around and it'll work...take it off the metal bracket and turn it the way it should be.

There's a good bit of info on the scepter tanks on here if you search them up!! Some can be very old though and can separate where they come together over time.
Perfect!! If you already have the 140 you're set!! Is it set up for gas? I learned on one of those, work very well...I am just cheap didn't want to spend the extra money on that...I found the body parts I got were oversized to cut to fit whatever you need to replace so you can practice...
I have 4 of those tanks that I bought at local swap meets, there is a holder that bolts to the floor to hold it in place with a small strap going over top. I have seen a few online in some surplus stores online too. They can be very old though so if you want to put fuel in there they better be...
If that's all the rust you have you're in good shape!! Looks like an inner rocker and outer,,,easy peasy...as far as the door goes both of mine have that too...dang guys back into stuff with it open...if you take the door off you can dolley hammer that out pretty easy...there's plenty of room...
Interesting video...I wonder if when it was welded together it warped? I hate to take the chance but when you bolt it up will the crank bolts and TC bolts being there is 6 pull it straight again? Possibly measure the drop on the ring gear and make sure it is the same all the way around...that...
I think we can see the end of the tunnel soon...getting the passenger side floor fit and painted is a great feeling...I have a heated gym so I just put down a pallet with plastic to paint on...to cold to paint otherwise...this is our second quart of por-15...we use a bunch wherever we can...weld...
Have you charged the new batteries you put in? I know it sounds silly but I always do...a nice low 2-6 amp for a few days just to make sure they're completely topped off...got the OCD a little...are the battery cables and ends in good shape? Like not crushed together and such. Also is the light...
If I remember right that is the capacitor that will knock down voltage spikes on the passenger side alternator...I don't think that's much of an issue unless you still have the military radio in the truck still...should lower radio interference.

I think I have a grasp of what you're going through since I just did the same thing with alternators and belts...you can get the belts to tight as in they will wipe out the bearing in the new alternators and possibly wear out the pulley grooves...there is a belt gauge out there for tightness...
Yes thats low...I do ask though if the line going to the trans is ok as if it is leaking the vacuum will be low...unless you have it hooked not to the tee but on the actual pump which is what you wrote but just want to make sure.
80 sounds good, with my 4 foot extension that's probably all I'd get out of it! I am a torque freak though...have the nice torque to yield snap on half inch wrench and quarter inch one too use them all the time! One thing overlooked is to make sure the surface of the trans and engine is very...
They should be...check the site that was posted above that has the rebuild kits...they may have one available as well.

Crap....got mixed up with the 350!! Dang, I gotta dust off my rebuild books!! I think the first one I did was in 1991. The governor # 4 has the gear end though that is that same ugh...Didn't mean to misinform. After a while they all look the same...just act like a robot and rebuild them!
I forgot to say when you get the governor cover off check the gear on the end of the governor...it is plastic and might have sharp edges on it meaning it is about to strip out...could replace that too if it's goin out...make sure the springs are on the weights too.
The governor cover is just a big o ring...might want to get a new cover as it might not be round anymore to be leaking...not a usual leak unless someone took it off and bent it...I have seen that a bunch....it should have a good edge to tap a few times to come out though so it shouldn't be that...
