CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

I thought I'd play with the vacuum pump this morning to see if it had any and if I could get the trans to shift. The vacuum is at 28 inches, seems high??... so that's working, while I was there I moved the vacuum valve adjustment forward thinking that since it was all the way back it may shift...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

So it's been a month since my last update since not much has changed in the CUCV world here....parts are coming for the blazer still, found some clean fender wells for it...no rust...plus the kiddo bought another car,,1973 440 charger...ugh...dang projects stacked up for days...on the M1008 I...

About to join the generator club.

Yes figure out how much you need before you pick a 802 or 803...I did not and got a 803 figuring bigger is better...I can run my entire house with everything on with the 803 no problem...thing is the engines need to be loaded up to keep running right...gotta get hot...mine barely tries...other...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

I bet the firewood is burning a good bit right now as cold as it has been!! I just bought a 1101 a few weeks ago...it has the bows but not the triangles that they go in to mount them...need a cover too, other than that it's a nice one!! LMK if you need wood split...got a teen that loves to...

    My m1009 project

Do you have a harness to replace the fuse box with or are you wiring one in? The hub is simple stuff...tons of info out there on that axle to fix it up easy...just watch out for cheap parts...if it does need bearings look for the timkin brand...run from the china ones...ball joints is a crap...

    New turn signal issue tonight

Sounds like a bad socket or bulb is corroded up...I always start these by pulling bulbs...I'd start with a headlight and see if the turns start working, I'd bet something is backfeeding the system, possibly the turn signals are very dim and you can't see them glow and the relay won't click...

    CUCV 383 Green Paint

I have a few I need to paint and have not looked into this at all yet since it's to cold out to do so...nuts!!! ok I'll look into that paint as the auto paint I am looking at is kinda pricey!!

    CUCV M1008 Build

The case spreader will make it easier to get out but most use those to set up new gear sets to make sure there is enough preload on the bearings when new...it will be tight but will come out without it...as far as setting it back up after you remove it no not really since it is going back in the...

    Electric Fuel Pump advise

I looked up the part you are using and found it a replacement for the 6.5...from what I found it's pressures should work fine for the 6.2...I'd mount it on the frame down by the tank though...I did see that there is no mount kit with the pump so you'd have to make one...these are self priming so...

    CUCV 383 Green Paint

What type of paint does home depot have that is automotive? I don't go to that store so I don't know. I looked up the brand you used and it shows it as a latex water based house paint so I'm thrown off a bit. What sized tip are you using in the hvlp?

    CUCV M1008 Build

If you can clean it up and can't feel it in the bearing rolling it over it that should be ok...hard to tell how hammered it is...can you feel it with the fingernail?...if you end up replacing it I saw a few online for around 120$ so it isn't that expensive...probably check the other side as well...

    Dash lights

I just replaced mine but didn't use leds...I am a big led guy and think the gauge back ground lights can be led....the ones I use can be dimmed and work great...I am not sure if they can be used for the alternator warning lights as the power may not pass through like a conventional light bulb to...

    Engine Oil Cooler Lines

I did mine a few months ago but can't remember which part numbers I used. I should have them in my build thread though I'll look. Ok I looked and it shows I replaced them but didn't show part numbers...I used the dorman brand 625-154 and 625-155. Both fit very well with one exception...the...

    ISO Cucv climate control switches

I don't but I I know a guy that might, I'll call him in the morning and find out...he's got a bunch, I purchased one from him a few months ago...He is in York Pa though but I don't think shipping would be to bad for something that light.

    Glow Plug System Video

I always wondered how the glow plug card knew when the engine started, now I know how! My truck needs new plugs as the system works but doesn't like to start when it's below 40 or so...one more thing to add to the list of parts! It really is a simple setup that works very well.

    CUCV M1008 Build

You certainly can go with a built 700...the parts they have now actually make them work and not self grenade every other week...there's a reason these didn't come with them and being they really were an absolute design and parts nightmare is just a small one...the 2 parts I think I have heard...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

That's a 24R21....It fits a 6x6 airport fire truck...I don't think that tire would fit anywhere on a 1009!! If you know anyone that needs a NOS tire this is a good one!
