Can you verify these glow plugs to be Wellmans?

One sure way to find out if the are China-com stuff is if they are 10mm vs 3/8". US made are always 3/8", never 10mm. Not saying all 3/8" are the real deal, but 10mm never are. What size wrench/socket did you use?

HMMWV won't start, transmission light is on

. Check all the major ground cables, AND the starter cable and ground. Make sure you wiggle any cables or tighten lugs ONLY with the ignition off. A sudden reconnection may fry components and most likely will create arcs and sparks... The trans light should stay on if the engine is not running...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

. Further research showed that the models listed on the 2nd part are all the A2 models. IIRC the M1123 is considered a version of an A2. Can anyone confirm or am I on the wrong track?

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Found my right rear tie rod to be worn out while doing semiannual inspection. Ordered the both tie rod ends and started to take them apart this morning. Should have learned from the front that this type of maintenance is better done in a shop rather than in my home garage... However, the tie rod...

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

. Maybe it's plain CYA, but you just can't argue with the TMs. There may be some other parameters that are different in the military use compared to most civilian versions. RWH, Mogman and other old-timer engineering minds may know more.

    Need bolt size

. @Jinx You are spot on, I was also looking in the 24P but didn't find it. Good catch. (y) The bracket you have installed is part# 6, the bolts are part #4.

    M1151A1 engine issues...among other things

. The black smoke (too much fuel) could be a clogged fuel return line, check valve or something like that. Something to think about, I am sure there are tons more reasons for the lack of power and black smoke... Here is an excerpt from a troubleshooting guide:

    Heavy white smoke cold start

I've read here before one bad plug creates a kot of smoke just because of the unburbed diesel, two or more are exponentially worse. I recently started to get some white smoke on startup, and I suspect that one plug i didn't replace last summer because it ohmed good and i ran out of time. I'll...

    Sf97 wait times?

. GovPlanet starts the request for the SF97 as soon as the vehicle is confirmed picked up. The paperwork needs to be routed from the service branch (USMC in my case) to GovPlanet, then processed and transferred to the buyer (you) on a separate sheet of paper. Mine (and I was a first time buyer...

Transmission or reducer issue in 1152A1

Not to jump the gun since you asked Mogman, but you are going about shifting all wrong. I would beg you to read the Operators Manual. Here is the page talking about transfer case shifting...

H1 tail light buckets on Hmmwv?

So, who is this mysterious seller? Only if you don't mind sharing. I would want to be prepared IF I ever bought from that person/company to read the fine print more closely than usual... I would understand if you rather not spread the info by word of mouth.

    Transmission issue in cold weather

Temperature wouldn't affect it like that by itself. Sounds like a mechanical issue of sorts...

H1 tail light buckets on Hmmwv?

What does the sellers’ handle on the site rhyme with, so we could avoid buying these lights in the future?

HMMWV Thermostatic Coolant Fan Switch Variants?

. Just a thought after re-reading your post. Now that the sensor is sticking out just a bit more, is it possible you have an airpocket between the coolant and the sensor? That would account for some higher temps. I was pondering the depth that you have the sensor into the manifold. That...

HMMWV Thermostatic Coolant Fan Switch Variants?

240 degrees is a bit too high for my liking. My original comes on at 215-ish. Me too will be replacing this soon as my switch fails to disconnect at times, cooling the fluid all the way down to 150 or so before it comes back to normal temp. but only intermittently. The aftermarket switches will...

    Directional switch light

. On my M1123 I also have the indicator light. The base somehow has a loose contact. Even though the signals outside the truck always work, the indicator doesn't always work. If I push a bit on the green lens it usually makes enough contact to come on... Have you tried squeezing the sides of the...

    Icy Roads

. Well, it is that time of year, again. We took the M1123 out for a drive on western South Dakotas' fresh 2" snow yesterday, mostly just to see how the truck handles, especially the "load range E" Bajas. Well, we got to enjoy a 50 mile roundtrip through Spearfish, backroads to Deadwood...

What was this HMMWV trailer used to carry?

In the Air Force we used similar type of bomb lifts to load 500 lbs and 2,000 lbs bombs onto the B-1 bomber. Also, we loaded FLIRs and radar equipment onto the outside. I could imagine this being a rocket loading lift for Army helicopters or gunships... Is there anything indicating what service...
