That does seem like a high MPG on the truck. With no load - and doing several tests with how many gallons filled to miles driven is an estimate. My guess its bumping 6 to 6.5. Eleven MPG seems like you have an engine you might not want to let go of.
Little more to do - but what a better fitting way to end than to go back to the beginning where the CUCV first was sitting - check out the first pictures and you will see what I mean.
Got the Black Out lights Swiss purchased installed - the housings got painted black - oooops - forgot to tell Swiss to tape up them new lenses before I sprayed them - looks like Swiss has some sanding to do to the new lenses.
Got the deuce and 1/2 pulled to the garage - chassis that is that...
DCA - great time to mention the damage internally in a diesel engine cooling system by static electricity bombarding the liners of the pistons until they cause tiny pinholes in the liners. Have seen this extensively on Detroits - Cummins - Cat engines by coolant systems neglected. I have also...
PC - you should have seen the mud at the bottom of the driveway to the garage entrance - we have had so much rain all the mud washed off the power line into the entrance of the garage - but your right they were crappy looking. I was going to tell PB I would trade him Debs M38A1 for the CUCV he...
Its not so much the brake fluid reservoir getting low - when I fire up the engine to warm it up and think - AH - maybe you should check the oil level - and I go pull the dipstick and its always low - so I just have been filling it - just cannot seem to catch up to get it on full level. The top...
YUP - this thread popping up again cause its NOT DONE.
I got Zout 2 to fire up the 5 ton and drive it to the top of the hill - also got Zout 2 to fire up the CUCV and roll her out to the open field so we could take some pictures and then leave it out side to bake in the Sun. Got a little more...
I could not put a name to the theivery - but I knew I got the idea from somewhere - and your right - if done right it is like a tank repair - solid as a rock. Thanks Mike.
Went to Birmingham Al this morning and saw these being flat beded - very cool.
Anyhow - the soft top plastic strip was broken in two pieces and ripped away from the vinyl.
Took 1/4 rivets and a small pair of vice grips and slowly worked down the strip - used some very tight fitting body washers...
I think it needs to be hauled sealed up to the Smithonian Museum immediately - chit on ever driving it or thinkin about it - imaculate build - too fussy for me. You'll be scared to drive it or let anyone near it.
More (FWIW) the truck will be placed out in the SUN and the little bubbles in the side decals will be removed - do not send me a pm about pricking little holes in them I already know -
^^^^ Yeah - you go ahead and have a great time doing that - I'll be watching you from afar off.
Topper installed and bolted in - rear tailgate window seals installed - all the interior components laid out - wiped down and I will get them sprayed tonight along with getting the front bumper and...
It was actually a very hard day yesterday and I was more than stressed - it was a relief to get home and Swiss happened to be the fella on the other end of the stick while I just blew off steam in my own way - if you have ever seen them fellas that throw tools or throw a tantrum - I am not one...
With all the time-effort-money spent trying to get this done there will a future 1-800-THX=CAMO donation phone line set up so you can show your thanks in GA - to get your BMY properly titled -
SO I cannot get youtube or any other type of video here at work to play so I did not see the clip of COUNT till he arrived last night giggly as a school girl and had the audactity to turn off my 97.1 Rock channel and show me - it was worth it to watch it and it fits him perfectly - now to get...
Lets get this straight - and its not far from being a possibility after all the BS crap some folks do not do to make their trucks perfectly safe. I have sat in a witness stand from a FLEET MANAGER position and testify. You do not want to have something on your truck misrepresented - illegially...
