IMO, unless you do your own work, you should probably pass. The big truck thing gets pretty expensive when you start paying someone else to do it.
If you can work on a little truck, you can work on a big one. in fact my 98 A0 is actually closer to some of the vehicles I have had back in the...
He said loose leaf...
sounds like an A1R. I thought they didn't start installing ABS until the R... I can scan to .PDF, but I don't know if I can do 11X17, will have to check tomorrow.
here is an overview of the cat 3116 fuel system and checking out the primer specifically. If you have a leak in the supply line or a leaking flapper check in the primer and a leak anywhere else, the fuel drains back to the tank as it doesn't have a foot valve on the supply line in the tank.
That location on the driveshaft is directly below the Air Operated Pump... it is also directly below the PTO cover plate. The trans fill line also runs right over that location.
since this doesn't look like a winch truck, that cover might be loose, the fill hose might be split/cracked, or...
Yea, containers are a little heavy, even cut down to fit. You will also be pretty high... Have you looked for a box truck box? Much lighter and more appropriately built for this IMO...
And the guide pawls need to be put in the right way. They have a sawtooth pattern just like the drum/barrel does on the adjuster and these two saw teeth pattern must interlock...
Yes chambers go bad, but they usually leak air. In this case air applied to the activation port would pass on thru a damaged diaphragm and exit the vent port.
yes you can open it up.
The front chambers have no mechanical springs.
are you sure you have the air lines attached to it correctly...
1. You will have every piece of paper GP is going to give you before you can schedule a pickup. You can either specify a bill of sale or a state title for extra $ as long as you have proof of ownership, you should be able to get a temp tag for transport. But unless you are familliar with...
That pulsing when loading the circuit is a classic symptom of a bad connection. Had this about 3 days after I got my truck home from auction. It was a bad/dirty connection on the polarity box 12V terminal. It had not arced or got hot so simple cleaning fixed the issue.
When troubleshooting...
You don't need to download one manual, you need to download ALL 9 of them. You will find electrical troubleshooting in the -1 manual, which will lead you to a specific repair in chapter 7 which is found in the -3 manual. I would not print any of them, they are thousand pages long In many cases...
1997 makes yours an A0 alright... What tenmonger said, there is a complete set of A0 manuals available in the manuals section of this site which is the first section at the top of the main/home page. There is an electrical schematic in the back of every manual. If you send me an email...
Yep, the LBCD(circled in red) is only on the A1 and as mentioned senses battery voltage and load and controls the load disconnect relays(circled in green) Via,the other connections/wires.
The A0 polarity protection box only has the large diodes, 4 terminals and just the 6 large cables...
Well the box could be a polarity protection box, thats why we need the year and model as it will tell us what schematic to look at to give you troubleshooting tips. If the box is between the tire and the air cleaner and about in the middle of the vehicle, that may be the polarity box. But the...
Yep, what truck model. Could be a bad DC connection or bad ground. Could be a LBCD on an A1 truck or a polarity box on an A0. Could be a main relay or even a main switch or any of the associated wiring. The not restarting till cool is a great clue and can also be a valuable troubleshooting...
This system will apply service air and can be fit to any axle. It wont mess with the park air system at all, as there are no park brakes on the front axle, and having the front axle being able to apply max traction is pretty desirable IMO. It will respond as fast as the solenoids can apply air...
