    Signal Corp pic

Wow Great pic. When I see a pic like that, I always wonder how many, if any, of those CUCVs are still alive and running.

A question on a M1009 that has probably been asked 1,000 times

One of these decals might help in the future.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Nicely done! There is nothing that accurately describes the incredible feeling of bringing a CUCV back to life.

    Anyone know why?

Good to hear. Thanks for the status update

    AN/TPQ-36 FireFinder (Modified M116A1) Trailer

So I picked up the newly installed tires today. This is the closest tire I could to find to match the ones that it came with. E rated. Installed valve stem extensions to make life easier down the road. Used some rust converter on the drums and some spots on the wheels. Finished one side of one...

    Handbrake adjustment help M101A2

It sometimes takes some ample force to get it to turn. You might heat it up with a torch to help break the rust loose. The expansion and contraction of the metal usually breaks the bond. There are a LOT of M101 series trailer owners who need these handles. Including me.

    Handbrake adjustment help M101A2

I meant on that particular handle. We’ve been down this road before. I can find the TM part number all day long, along with plenty of handles that claim to “fit”, but do not. I have not seen that new style for sale anywhere, which is why I wondered if there’s a part number stamped on it

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Finally installed the two missing battery hold down studs. Only took 5 years......... Bought 1/4” stainless steel threaded rod and cut to length. Next time I have the top trays off, I’ll cover the middle with shrink sleeve to prevent any chafing. It was one of those items that I knew about...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Added some military surplus “Tie-Down” lettering to my M149A1-2. Their adhesive and stick very well. Still not sure if I like them or not.

estimated cost of a custom canvas for M101

Those lower prices seem reasonable for what your wanting. Canvas isn’t cheap anymore snd isn’t easy to work with because of the weight, plus you want windows too. Try 98G’s suggestion and give that place a call. That trailer looks great. Nice color.

    M101A2 leaf spring capacity questions

You will probably have DOT issues with that trailer and the 4x4 on top unless a lot of modifications are done. Check your states requirements also. As already mentioned, it will sit high and have CG issues. The axle and springs should work for that amount of vehicle weight but with all the...

    M103A3 power plant replacement lens

Finding the individual lens might be tough, but plenty of NOS complete lights are on the online auction site. Standard and LED. Depends on how much $$ you want to spend. Some are all plastic and some are aluminum housing with plastic lenses. Post your needs in the Parts Wanted section if you...

    Handbrake adjustment help M101A2

Is there a part number anywhere on that new style lever? I see the cage number in one pic. Replacement levers for these trailers are almost impossible to find. The correct ones anyway. As already mentioned, their just rusted. Once you get them freed up and working, keep them lubed well.

    Anyone know why?

Make sure your batteries are charged and alternators are working.

    AN/TPQ-36 FireFinder (Modified M116A1) Trailer

Thanks for the info. It still doesn’t cover this particular trailer. It’s wider than a normal M101A1 and includes the dual wheels. Nothing I’ve found/seen so far mentions the dual wheels and 3 extra leaf springs layers.

    AN/TPQ-36 FireFinder (Modified M116A1) Trailer

Patched up the holes and secured the side panel to keep weather out. I missed the small one. Will put a screw in it tomorrow. Will probably install a solid sheet of aluminum at some point in the future in its place.

    AN/TPQ-36 FireFinder (Modified M116A1) Trailer

It’s built like an aluminum tank. I have it up on all 3 jacks right now and it doesn’t budge at all when standing on it and trying to make it move or even wiggle a bit. Zero flex. on fenders or boxes. Plenty of storage built in. Going to install NOS wire harness this weekend if weather...

    AN/TPQ-36 FireFinder (Modified M116A1) Trailer

Absolutely post away. This is the only trailer data plate that I’ve seen which says “Modified”. Hard to tell in pics but it came from factory that way. Hence the modified wording on the data plate. Way too nice aluminum work for unit level.
