I decided it was time to move up from the trusty M1028. I was looking at M109'a or awhile and won this M185a3 from Barstow. I won it without inspecting it. I submitted my EUC on 3/25 and got approval today, the 31st. My 1st EUC took like a month so 4 working days is amazing. Now I plan to drive...
That sounds like an early symptom of the Hydraboost failing. Specially if turning one way is harder than the other. Mine did the same thing and there was also steering fluid dripping down behind the brake pedal.
I replaced the starter and a GM starter relay. I spent the extra money for the made in china GM part to prevent this from happening again. Good idea one the battery cut off switch. Thats cheap insurance so I think I will install one. Thanks Guys
My relay is only two months old. I pulled the gear reduction starter and could smell the problem. I pulled the solenoid off and it (solenoid) reeked. The starter does not smell. Do you think I should just replace the solenoid and give it a try? I will start looking for a supplier for this...
Thanks guys for your input. I just replaced the relay about two months ago. Im almost sure I also fried the starter because it was cranking for awhile.
Attempted to start my M1028 today and there was no power sent to the starter. I went inside the house and had the keys in my pocket. A short time later while I was on the phone, I heard a truck cranking. After about twenty seconds, I still heard the cranking and I realized it was my truck. I...

Yea they are 36 sx's. Locked/limited slip M1028 with 4" front springs and stock rear springs. Its a trade off having all these trails around. No Best Buy around for hours. NEVER BUY SX's for anything that goes on road. They will shake you truck apart. They are awesome for a trail vehicle.
I went high up into the Sierra's today and it was very warm. I was worried about overheating due to the long steep climb from 7000 feet up to 10300 feet and dozens of switchbacks. The 6.2 held 200 degrees the entire trip. I learned that the switchbacks were built by jeepers and not by CUCV...
Tore down my old 6.2 tonight for a rebuilding project. It had a blown head gasket and exhaust came out through the cooling system. First off, I noticed that on one side all the pistons were darker than the other. One of those piston looked like is had calcium deposits on its face. It came...
