The advice given was not to cap the service and emergency lines, it was to de-install them COMPLETELY and cap the ports where they were connected to their respective checkvalves...
These are supply lines. They both take air from the vehicle ahead and feed it to the input of two separate check...
Both front service and emergency lines come in and feed 2 check valves respectively(thru “T”s). Only reason to vent the emergency at the gladhand is in the event one of the check valves fail(the one where it feeds air in between dryer and wet tank) and backfeed the other 2 way check valve...
pushing in on the case makes it work? That sounds like a ground connection as mentioned, or a connector issue in the plug or a cold/bad solder joint or connection inside the controller...
Reading the operators manual it says 30”... have not seen any mention of a fording kit, but just went past the section that lists kits and options for the various models, I will look back at it this evening...
Keys are overrated... They only keep honest people out:)... A key can be bypassed, far better for security imo to put in an interlock ckt with a hidden switch, or thru an unlikely dash switch, that disables it. Perhaps using the crank but no start maintenance circuit... “Dam thing wont...
I just looked at your pictures again and you have NO spacers behind the upper edge of the hook plate(between top, edge of plate and cab). Your plate appears flush against the cab. In the video you can clearly see the gap(1/4”-3/8”?) formed by the spacers between hookplate and cab.
The...
Go look at this video on youtube. He shows a good sideangle of the latch and hook. In the vid you can see spacers between the upper hookplate bolts and the back of the cab. Dont think yours is installed correctly...

Playing around in the schematics I came across 2 van schematics. You can find them in: TM 9-2320-365-20-1 sheet 31-32 of 34(page 1650 ish). One is DC the other is AC power distrubution for the van. Looks like it gets 24V from the chassis for DC lights and fans. No indication of “house”...

This thread discusses the basic diagram and battery layout. Basically the outer row of terminals are ground, the next two rows in (where inside and outside batts are tied...
Our 1079 dosnt have the box, so it is basically a M1080(cab and chassis) Since we were planning on building our own to our spec on a used box truck chassis, this was perfect. And it is SOO much more truck:)
Used to make runs to McChord from PA and that is right along one of my alternate routes to the narrows bridge, so should be pretty easy to duck that hwy 16 interchange construction.
This 1079(minus the box so basically a M1080) looks to have a good drivetrain and starts with a jump, but no...
Yep, the location is listed as lakewood, think I can see WM in the background of one of the auction pics:) I know exactly where that is at now, thanks.
I won a GP bid this morning for a M1079 cab and chassis in Lakewood WA. I have a local guy who can help me trailer it home, does anyone know exactly where the lakewood vehicles are located?
Now the fun begins...:)
