    Injectors: Front Vs. Rear

sadly, much of the info on the internet and also on this forum is simply wrong. all injectors get the same amount of fuel. now it is conceivable that since it is an inline engine, the rear cylinders may run hotter, but from a practical sense, not enough to matter.

mep802a - Panel reads 230v, no juice at main lugs

next check the wiring diagram. from that you can deduce what is wrong

    Injectors: Front Vs. Rear

all receive the same amount of fuel, anything else would be an impossibility. where did you get that info?

Repower project for deuce get underway

actually, the budget is the biggest issue. otherwise i would just go spend $4000!! good used turbos are in my sights as once they last 6 mths and are taken care of, they will last me a lifetime.

Repower project for deuce get underway

two angry bees fighting?? no, i need surprisingly small turbos, i am thinking about subaru vf39 rhf4, just need to find a good used pair i can afford.

Repower project for deuce get underway

ha! yeah i know, but i have projects to last me another 30 years!! i also still need turbos and some other easier stuff. this will no doubt be a longer task than most of my projects.

Repower project for deuce get underway

when i got my 3208 it was a rebuilt engine that was completely worn out with 8 broken pistons. bored it .030 over and put a cam in it and it was good as new, 200 hp, it was just way too much power for a deuce. it was common for me to start out in 3rd gear since it had 650 ft lbs torque. top...

Repower project for deuce get underway

Repower project for deuce get underway

ok, the 3208 is just too much engine plus the fuel knock and ringing in the block made hearing protection a must. i reasoned i needed a little smaller engine but thought the 7.3 might be too little. the 8.2 detroit was considered but i like strange over common place so here i am. the 9.0 looks...

Repower project for deuce get underway

yes, we have a winner! the 9.0 was in fact a converted gas engine and had a few problems, all of which were corrected before IH quit making them. they never came with a turbo so were very low on power. i added piston cooling jets and expect to run 8 psi boost. this looks to be a long term...

Repower project for deuce get underway

well, someone will have to guess at what motor this is and it won't be that easy for most. no prizes. but it is pretty isn't it??

Repower project for deuce get underway

well, yes, that was the 3208 and was MkI, this is MkII

Repower project for deuce get underway

just love V8's so am repowering Millennium Reo. this will probably be a long project as i started looking for an engine 4 years ago!! adding twin turbos and oil cooling for pistons.

    Clutches In the heat

front and rear top bearings are 1308SL, rear counter shaft is 1307L, front counter shaft is M1207EL, and I buy the 14 rollers bulk and get ones that are .125" longer for more support.

    Turbo design

have not been able to find compressor side maps for the 2260 or 2860, need range of 10 to 15 lbs/min @1.68

    Clutches In the heat

and there are several choices in front bearings, only one is really good, i don't have that number on this computer, it should have 11 balls and a shield on the side away from the outer ring groove (rear of trans)

    Clutches In the heat

there is no front seal. all front leaks are almost always traced back to bad front bearing and damaged or loose or no gasket front bearing retainer. if it leaks with proper oil level, bottom of fill hole, there is something wrong at front bearing.
