    HOL-GAR CE-106-AC/WK 9 EP Genset

Here are some pics to finish things out. Proper disconnects (see switch handle in other photos) from the supply and what feeds the genny connection. This makes it easy to set up. I bought all the parts new off ePay for 1/5 to 1/10 the cost of new from, say, Graybar. The back end. I...

    HOL-GAR CE-106-AC/WK 9 EP Genset

I did not measure fuel consumption on the Holgar when it was on the load bank so I can't tell you what it is. At the rated load, I suspect it is more than your Chinese unit as it was never built for fuel efficiency. However, if the load is bouncing around, it may be the same. Given the cost...

    HOL-GAR CE-106-AC/WK 9 EP Genset

:-D Ya, a big wind storm came through and pushed some tress down over the high tension lines. We have 10 acres of trees next to the main line that were planted in the late 1800s so that probably qualifies as mature. :-D The great thing is everything is going underground so that problem will...

    HOL-GAR CE-106-AC/WK 9 EP Genset

Oh, and some may ask, why the 100 amp set up at the pole? I over sized it in case the Holgar wasn't up to the task and I had to upgrade to a bigger genny. We have a ground source heat pump (aka "geothermal") that pulls 140 amps to start and then backs off to 14 amps when running. I saw no...

    HOL-GAR CE-106-AC/WK 9 EP Genset

Your questions are pretty vague. What does "a good job" mean to you? The main similarity is they are both military. Not being a smart butt, but that's about where the similarities stop. The Holgar is gasoline -MEPs are diesel. The Holgar has no electronics what-so-ever. Both AC and DC...

NHC250 alternator pulley loose, throwing belts!

The resistor is usually gold in color with fins in the longitudinal direction, about 1.5 to 2 inches in length. You'll see one of the black ends have pushed out if it went south. It's held into place with screws so you'll have to unsolder the ends to unmount it. I get the resistors from...

NHC250 alternator pulley loose, throwing belts!

Regulator. Check the large pile resistor and see if it phused it's guts out. If so. $5 fix. If not, new regulators are reasonable and abundant. Al Jones M923

NHC250 alternator pulley loose, throwing belts!

Your unit needs repair if you plan on returning it to service. You need a new rotor and pulley. I have attached two documents - a parts list and a wiring diagram. The "R" is not used on the 250. The parts show up fairly frequently on ePay. You have lost shaft section - if that lets loose...

    M923A2 Replacement Stickers (Labels)

Be sure and clarify if the labels are NOS, current milspec, or reproduction from anyone you might buy from. The reproduction ones I bought were less than acceptable (did not stay on, faded in sunlight, glossy). Al Jones

    LDS vs LDT

What would really be useful is adding some information as to WHY an LDS. I'm don't think saying so without reasons is helpful to the OP. Al Jones (I thought it originally said M151 too - heh heh)

M923 with M38A1 in the Bed??

I've entered my M923 and (maybe) M38A1 in a car show in a few weeks. I want to piggyback the M38A1 in the bed of the 5 ton. Any chance I'll stretch or wave the sheet steel in the bed? The bed is perfect so I don't want to bend it. If anyone has experience doing this, chime in let me know the...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

I'd be a bit careful. Last time I researched air horn solenoids, they are not continuous duty. So for the short term, I think you're ok. For the long term, carry a spare in case the coil fries. Al Jones 84 M923

    M105A2 Emergency Air Conversion

Can you please measure the thickness of the mounting plate? I can use a ruler to estimate the plate size off the photos. Can you please also measure the diameter of the mounting u-rods? I'll have to make my own. Thanks! Al Jones

Can someone please post the thickness, width and measurements (bends, etc.) of the standoff brackets? It would be item 17 in the attached. Thanks! Al Jones
