What did you do to your trailer today.

A member sent me a Craigslist link that had someone selling a M101A? With the fiberglass topper. Of course it’s way too far away for me,’but price was right for someone local. I removed the leaves from inside trailer today, while truck driver was delivering a load of Red Diesel. Haven’t...

Plenty of trucks in junk yards with good bolts. I found a complete GM set on eBay for $40 Use LMC only if you have to.

Having them made locally is probably your best bet. Definitely faster.

    Post your cucv pics here

While SP gave you a pass on that particular stop, I highly recommend you bring your lights in compliance with the law. It will come up again and you probably won’t be as lucky next time. Doesn't matter if we all know or think it’s BS. It’s the law. The Deputy will definitely remember you and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Glad you found the issue. While chasing electrical problems is not fun, you also learn a great deal doing it. How components work together and why. Where they are and the best/easiest way to access and replace/repair it. How to use a DMM and to understand the readings it’s showing. Etc...

M1008 Ujoint at wheel, front axle

Spicers non-greaseable ujoints are excellent also. That’s what I use and have had zero issues. They’ve been absolutely flawless. If in dought, call Spicer and they can tell you which one you need.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Nice topper on it. I would love to find the rare fiberglass topper for the M101A2/3 the Military was just beginning to issue before the trailers were phased out.

M1028 Tire Pressure with BFG AT KO2

Just don’t take corners too fast. Heavy pickup might roll tire off rim at 20psi with high lateral force. That low of pressure will definitely affect handling. I have had those tires before. Great tires Never ran them at such low pressures and never had uneven wear. Just kept them rotated...

I personally think it’s the best Military trailer ever overall.

Does anyone else get poor readings from 6.2 added temp gauge?

I’m using the plug off the water pump. It’s only temporary until I install my HMMWV coolant crossover with the correct water temperature sensor placement. I know the water pump is not the ideal location for temp accuracy but it does do a decent job there. I use AutoMeter gauges for water...

Moderators~ Time for a Generator only forum!?

Still need a dedicated Generator Only Forum. The generator threads drown everything else out.

CUCVs on base. How many left?

I keep seeing them in background shots on auction sites. When I was flying in Northen California earlier this month, I spotted several in use at different government facilities and more in the DRMO lots. They do stand out on a Military base. Prices have definitely gone up.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I have one also. Can’t find pics now. Very well made product and easy to install. It’s identical to the original 1984 design. It is OD in color and looks great. I don’t use the bottom spring loops. Just tuck bottom behind bumper and works great. It fits nice and snug. Very easy to take...
