It took a lot longer than expected (axles & breaks)
I drove my truck this weekend... For the first time since the 2015 Texas Rally last March!!!!
This weekend also marks the completion of work on all three axles and the brake system. My truck has been inoperable for the last six months...
Break pedal free travel should be not less than 1/4" and not more an 1/2"

This was fresh on my mind after this weekend's work....
I'm glad to hear you made it home safely!
I just put a NOS air pack and master cylinder in my M35A2 this weekend. The master cylinder came from Clintogf's add in the classifieds. I shopped around for the air pack. White Owl had the best price.
It looks like both Eastern Surplus and TNJ Murray are about 4 hours drive from Charlottesville, VA if you had someone to wake up early and make a road trip...
I just purchased a new air pack (its going into my truck tomorrow) from White Owl. They had the best price I could find.
Good luck...
John,
A quick recap... Your batteries were DEAD tired... You placed them under a thick blanket in the back of your van... And you expected conversation? I bet they slept the whole ride home to San Angelo! :naner:
I hope Mr. O'Reilly was able to wake your batteries up today!
Ron - I posted that in a hurry as I was running out the door and should have articulated better. Our message is the same. By all means, one should bleed their break system in the correct order. However, it appears that the correct order on a 5t is different than the correct order on the...

Here is a good link for a power bleeder...
Gunny65 - I'm sorry to hear about all of the troubles on your recovery. Most important, you are safe! Hopefully you can get some rest now that you are in a hotel. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
M923A2 Closing Auction Price Data
I don't know what the future holds, but I can give some insight to the recent past. The tables below present closing auction price data for M923A2's sold by GP between November 2014 and August 2015.
Please note that the closing auction prices reported...
I still have a question after re-reading this thread. There will be air in the line on the power bleeder from the sprayer tank to the master cylinder cap when you first pressurize the sprayer tank. Does this air cause an issue? I assume that the air will be injected into the break system on...
Doing it R4x4 Style!
This thread is great! Thank you Recovry4x4 for starting the discussion and posting the pictures!
Using Recovry4x4's pictures, I purchased a one-gallon sprayer at Home Depot and everything else from my local hardware store. They can be more expensive, but I like to...
I'll toss in my 2cents...
Driving a M934 1,100 miles home is certainly more risky than having it trailered home. However, with more risk comes the potential for more reward! If you decide to recover the truck yourself, you will embark on a journey that you'll remember for the rest of your...
