What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

First are the 395's and I'll look for picture with 14.00. You have to know what you're looking at to see a difference. The last 2 are with 14.00 when the truck was delivered.

NEEWB to Deuces. Looking to get first Deuce (need sage advice)

The problem with an M35A3 is not abuse (well sort of), but that the OEM seals on the pistons that put pressure on the clutch pack, especially the 4th and reverse, start leaking past them and the pressure on the frictions and steels decreases (slips). Then people mash the fuel (rpm) and the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Phoenix.....Load rating on the 395 XZL is 12,300 lbs max and the GY 14.00 is around 9,750 lbs. The 395 is a couple inches shorter. I had GY 14.00 AT-2 on my M929A2 and hated them, they had taken an egg shape from sitting flat. I was prepared to go back to duals as it was unstable with a...

Air gate for military dump trucks

Do you happen to have any pictures Ron? Do you remember the size and stroke of the cylinder? Did you keep a manual handle ( I guess that is what "full air/manual" means) ?

Air gate for military dump trucks

Not me, but I could help with components or specifications. I have an M929A2 that I would consider doing it to, but it's not high priority since I use the wings and leave the gate down most the time. I did that on my 817 also, never once used the gate in normal closed position. But like...

    7th times the charm?

Did you buy the crane? What a deal! I bought the M322 and wish I could say I put it to good use, but haven't. Have fun with your new MV stuff.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

More just an opportunity. I was reading SOM post and the deuce thread was on 799....call it serendipity.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Oh man, I have to do it...the 800th page! I guess to qualify I have to have something I did, so. Fittin the M105 bed frame and rear bumper.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Not to go too far off subject....but did you guys see that a 1095 trailer went up on GP and sold at $2500? That is the 2nd one I have not bid on, only to see that it went at a price I thought was reasonable (even good). I like them and what a fine companion to the LMTV or MTV! Only 2 times...

    M105 bed placement on 4x4 M35A3

Thanks Jbulach. Since I don't have a gooseneck, your dimensions help a lot. My back of bed to the axle is 50", so I'm within a reasonable distance there, but since I'm going to 395's, I'm hoping the sides of the bed and gate don't get too high. I'll go compare the corner to ball dimensions...

    M105 bed placement on 4x4 M35A3

Working on the rear end. To make it dump and go over the hitch requires a low hinge point, attached to the bumper. Until all the dump is in place, 3 bolts on each side will hold it in place through 1/2" plate. I have not not cut the above hitch plate, I used a 1/2"x9" hr flat and have yet to...

    7th times the charm?

Perfect...that's exactly what I needed...thank you Outpost603. My deuce doesn't need as much height. I'm using 395's....and two 3.5" square tubes popped out of my weeds that are prefect length....so I have the rails. I'm going ahead and make a hinge at the rear for a dump addition when...

    7th times the charm?

Cool truck. Was the frame shortened? Take some photo's of the rear suspension if you have a chance. With the axle at the back, it will handle heavy tongue weight real well. I'm working on my M35A3 without the M105 bed yet and need a few dimensions. Can you help me out? I have an M105 rear...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

Sure Phil, especially on those hard to find cylinders. Are there ready made sleeves?

    Civilian wheel cylinders

Putting sleeves in sounds expensive. I'll sell 6 new bodies, rubber and springs (3 old design spring and 3 new design) - cheap. Pistons are wrong, not V shaped, so your old pistons need cleaned and installed...all new otherwise. I'm going to the larger size as explained above.

    Civilian wheel cylinders

They look good, inside and out. No markings to even tell where they were made, but the quality seemed to be fine and rubber seemed fresh, new, not NOS. Spring is the new style.

Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

Yea, could be. Will try moving it next time. Still, I'd like to have a replacement control ready to go and would feel more confident about adding auxiliary stuff, knowing my electric supply is in good shape. It might be worth having some additional relays, switched circuits and maybe a few...

Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

This must be my M929A2's problem. I have to jumper across the starter about 1 in 20 starts. Did anyone ever determine if the 7 pin connector is available? Other than the box, that seems to be the only part that might be hard to supply. Maybe in a Hoffman box.
