I'm thinking of making a rear ramp/bed that raises to flat, doesn't fold up, on my M322. It would make it about 12' longer. I could probably use air bags for raising and lowering that far, mounted at the very back of the frame.
The spring setup for the OEM ramps is simply not working. My...
I have to build a spare tire carrier for my deuce. If you have a couple of pics of your spare tire carrier install, please post them up.
I guess I'm technically bobbing my M35A3 now that I've decided to take a foot off of the rear frame. I'm using an M105 trailer bed and want to leave...
It's a lot of work to straighten. They appear sound, didn't get cracking and look straight.
I have a flat machine base (about a ton) with big overhangs and T slots that I beat against.
Looks good man....but I would have the rear troop seats torn up in no time. I kept my uprights to have the bows, but had to put wood where the slats are.
I like the big tires (they first looked like 16.00). I went to 395's. Have fun with it!
Good luck with your Cat. I had (past tense) a Case about that size. Wes has hauled for a lot of us and was a part of motivating me to buy an M322 trailer.
Are there more available like the one Spartan posted? I believe one could overload it, but it sure would take a beating.
Good luck fiat. PM me if I can help in your search. I buy and resell these 5 ton trucks as my hobby.
Thanks... I'll see if I can find more info about where I was looking at the beds.
It could be Kenworth of Indianapolis on South Holt Road or Palmer trucks...they seem to be one and the same. When I was there they had a lot more beds than the Google map shows. Also they have a lot of used...
Sorry, no pics in action with a full load. Here is my first dump (an 817) and above is my second, an M929A2.
I hauled about 120 loads of demo debris with the 817 and recently hauled about 80 of foundation stone and gravel fill with the 929. They haul about 2/3-3/4 of the big triaxle but...
Fiat41b, There were many different types, some with a metal that they claim to be more "rock resistant". I wasn't looking for specific "rock" as in extremely large or chunks of concrete that would need a lot of reinforcement (like Bret's). I think I was at Fruehauf, which were mounting many...
That is the problem...the weight of the material. If you give them room to put it, they will.
Does your truck(s) have to look good or just do the work without a big investment? Would a couple of older 817's work?
Yea, new beds are stocked in Indy only a couple miles south of the old GL...
If my truck had more capacity....the TC would be in parts on the ground.
I agree with Jbulach. There is no way to keep from using low range while backing. I'm about to have fuel turned up in hopes of operating in high range, but not holding my breath.
Tires made big difference....went...
I looked at putting one of those beds on an M931A2 that I had. At Indy the beds are selling $10k-12k alone....they are very similar.
You did good.
I wanted to preserve my ability to put bows and a top on my 929 so made these sides. Note...I run all the time with my tail gate down.
If you happen to need them, I bought a full set (593a, 596 and races 592a) bearings and seals (inner and outer) for doing the rear axles and then didn't need them.
You know that the trailer would be very handy cut down like I have mine, not even replace the bent pieces. And make a custom canvas and frame (camper or whatever). I've thought many times of mounting a welder in that nice open front. Just have a U channel formed that is snug to cap the...
I want a hard top and plan to make a frame that would incorporate enough strength to stand a chance in a roll over and even more, that I can work off of, standing on it.
Of coarse any fabbed steel roof would have some support, but a frame that goes down and attaches with through bolts to the...
