I was around them a lot in my US Army Aviation days.
Just never looked close at them.
Not sure what a "card deck " is that your talking about.
I know the TO came with some units sold on GP. I've seen and posted a picture of a page from it.
I'm still looking.
Yes
bushings are tight in tubes and pins rotate within the bushings.
Most surplus ones are rusted.
Simply remove and use a wire wheel to remove and lightly re-grease and reinstall.
The grease isn't required, just something I do, mainly to prevent rust.
New pins and bushings will make a...
It cranks just fine and is very easy.
The unit itself is bigger than it looks. So are the light assembly's.
All the way down, the platform top is almost 6 foot tall on flat concrete.
Ladder seemed like a good idea until actually dealing with the weight and mass.
Close call for sure.
Pickup...
Bushings replace.
Pins replace only if they are worn.
New parts from the original manufacturer (Hydro-Act) are available from Croft Trailer Supply.

Prices are not bad considering the OEM parts.
Be be sure to physically check all the bolts holding on the actuator...
Agree
First time I put them up, I used a ladder. Wrong!!
About dropped one with me close behind.
My Back still isn't the same.
Truck with tailgate down is now preferred method.
Plenty of foot room to handle the weight.
I bet they are over 60+ pounds each.
I have some night photos of the sodium lamps.
Pictures don't relay very well just how far they throw the light
Very impressive amount of light, but I just don't like the color.
We watched deer come into the field from quite a distance, surprisingly not bothered by the noise or the light...
It used to lube. Diesel is very dry now.
It no longer does, hence the two-cycle oil.
Plenty of other additives to add lube, but I like the 2CO the best.
To each his own
I have heard of that trick. Been a long time.
The detergents in the transmission oil really clean it out.
Same theory for the fuel system but with the addition of the friction modifiers, it's like adding sandpaper per say to the fuel.
I see two battery's, two alternators and the resistor installed. So still the stock 12/24 system.
Fuel filter mod.
Wrong oil fill cap. Needs the vented one. Easy fix.
Nice truck.
Agree.
Best, easiest, cheapest way most likely is to find a M105A3 that's being parted out.
They didnt make as many as the A2 so it might be a challenge to find the parts.
I'm looking for an A3 myself.
It helps a lot.
The older diesels were not designed for such dry fuel. Very hard on the injection systems.
Adding it keeps those small parts from sticking.
It's also designed to burn.
In my CUCV, I always add one quart per tank
Two+ in my 06 LBZ Duramax/Allision since I have an aftermarket...
New bulbs arrived.
One was busted internally. Chunk of glass about the size of a very small pea is sliding around.
Bulb looks like it will work just fine, but with that small piece of glass resting on the inside, I'm afraid it will cause a temperature imbalance on the glass housing and fail...
Don't know how big the tank is.
On my NF2D, it's a 9 gallon tank.
I used a pint.
A little much for some folks probably, but it won't hurt it.
Kubota engine purrs and doesn't smoke a bit no matter the load.
