Okay this is super easy take the valve cover off and look at the rockers as close to the blower as possible the closest 2. Use a 5/8 socket on a ratchet to turn the blower wheel clockwise very slowly and observe the rockers when they are both in the same position you are on the compression...
No worries, the reason the manifold heater gets away with it is due to them both being isolated from chassis, then jumped.
There are a few ways to make it work but if the proper parts are available then there's no sense in rigging it. If you have an overwhelming need to rig it let me...
Knocker loose for sure
Timing, yes and no. Button, shouldn't have to, pc mark yes. Be sure you are on compression of cyl 1 of you rely just on the PC mark you have a 50% chance (Murphy says 100%) you'll end up 180 out
If you are sending the injectors out remove them and send them...
Something is open. Since the reconnecting board is where the head gets terminated, it's either on the back side of the board or in the head. Check the wiring from the head (look for 12 large wires). Follow them from the head to the board. Check for damage for a bad connection on the...
There are diodes but they are on the rotor, their failure would not cause a loss of 1 leg.
Check it at the voltage reconnecton board. Let me know what you have between the following:
T1 to T2
T2 to T3
T3 to T1
T1 to T12
T2 to T12
T3 to T12
I assume you have a multi meter and are comfortable...
That's not how it works.
In general, an Ave only needs to see voltage and it regulates the voltage by adjusting the magnetic field. The windings all see the same field and create voltage. Where are you metering it? There may be a bad connection between the head and that point or you have a bad...
I had a need to replace the blower wheel my donor motor was missing a blade after breaking my gear puller trying to get it off I decided to go big. My new toy is a 12-in 15 ton hydraulic gear puller I'm quite happy with the results minus the ringing in my ears from the bang it made when it...
I have used aftermarket on a 004 and 005. A 006 shouldnt be too difficult.
Can you clarify your comment on 2 of 3 legs? if you have excitation the whole head should be putting out power.
The reason we used it was due to the quick drying. we were able to find hydraulic leaks faster with it. Its less effective on weeping low pressure leaks but still useful.
If it were me, I would check clearences, then pull injectors for testing (while they are out compression test). unless i absolutely need to, i tend to leave the IP in place as they are a pita and the timing procedure is annoying
The onboard gauges are not the best, The frequency meter being the biggest pain of all. verify your frequency with a known good multimeter. on more than one set i have had to replace the frequency meter, This usually involves replacing (or in your typical aftermarket gauge) bypassing the...
